Result of Poll for Proposed Loan, County of Waimea.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Waimea County Council, is published in accordance with "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886."

SIR,—In compliance with the provisions of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," I have the honour to forward, for publication in the Gazette, the following result of poll taken under the same:—
WAIMEA COUNTY.
Poll taken on the 25th March, on the proposal to borrow £1,300 to rebuild the cart-bridge at Foxhill, and the cart-bridge at Wakefield, and protective works to same:—
Number of ratepayers entitled to poll, 1,475.
Voted for the proposal . . . . 293
Voted against the proposal . . . . 28
And, as a majority in number of the ratepayers did not vote in favour of the proposal, I hereby declare the said proposal to be rejected.

WAIHEMO COUNTY.—NOTICE UNDER SECTION 39 OF "THE LOCAL BODIES' LOANS ACT, 1886."
Notice is hereby given that, at a poll of the ratepayers of the Waihemo County, held, in accordance with the above-named Act, on Wednesday, the 30th day of March, 1887, to consider the proposal of the Waihemo County Council to borrow a sum of £1,500 under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886," the following were the numbers of votes given for and against the said proposal respectively:—

Against . . . . . . 3
And notice is hereby further given that whereas a majority in numbers of the ratepayers of the said Waihemo County voted in favour of the said proposal, and whereas the number so voting were entitled to more than one-half in number of the votes which could be exercised at the said poll by the whole number of ratepayers, now, therefore, in accordance with section 39 of "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1886," I declare the said proposal to be carried.

THE following special order, made by the Waipipi Road Board, is published in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
At a special meeting of the Waipipi Road Board, held on the 19th February, 1887, and convened by advertisement in accordance with the provisions of the 76th clause of "The Road Boards Act, 1882," the following special orders were made:—
First. That a special rate of one-eighth of a penny in the pound be levied on all rateable properties (Crown and Native lands excepted) in that portion of the Waipipi Road District being the Parish of Waiuku West, except Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 10A of said parish, in order to provide funds for payment of interest and sinking fund on a sum of £150, to be obtained under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act," 1886;" the said rate to be an annual-recurring rate, payable on the 1st July in each year until the loan is paid off.
Second. That a special rate of one-sixth of a penny in the pound be levied on all rateable properties (Crown and Native lands excepted) in that portion of the Waipipi Road District consisting of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 10A in the Parish of Waiuku West, the whole of Subsection 1 in the Parish of Waipipi, Lots 45, 47, 49, 50, 51, 54, 56, 102, 118, 119, 120, 121A, 125A, 313, 109, 108, and part 209, all in the said parish, and also that portion of the Village of Waiuku situated in the Waipipi Road District, in order to provide funds for the payment of interest and sinking fund on a sum of £200, to be obtained under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886;" the said rate to be an annual-recurring rate, due and payable on the 1st July in each year until the loan is paid off.
I certify that the above special orders were made after due notice given, and in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

THE following special order, made by the Waiuku Road Board, is published in accordance with "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
At the ordinary meeting of the Waiuku Road Board, held on the 26th March, 1886, the following special order was made:—
That a special rate of one-seventh of a penny in the pound be levied on all rateable property (Crown and Native lands excepted) in that portion of the Waiuku Road District south of the northern boundary-lines of Lots 3, 1, 2, 44, 43, 39, 38, 37, 76, 78, and 71 in the Parish of Waiuku East, including all village properties; and a special rate of one-thirteenth of a penny in the pound be levied on all rateable properties (Crown and Native lands excepted) in that portion of the Waiuku Road District between the said boundary-lines and the northern boundary-lines of Lots 114, 122, 125, 146, 147, 148, 149, 150, 151, 152, 153, 154, and 112 in the said parish, in order to provide funds for the payment of interest and sinking fund on sums of £150 to be obtained for each of the above-described districts under "The Government Loans to Local Bodies Act, 1886;" the said rates to be annual-recurring rates, due and payable on the 1st July in each year until the loans are paid off.
I certify that the above special order was made by the Waiuku Road Board after due notice given, and in accordance with the provisions of "The Road Boards Act, 1882."

SPECIAL ORDER.
That this Board do make an annual-recurring special rate of three-eighths of a penny in the pound sterling, to be levied, if required, upon the property in that part of the Le Bon's Bay Road District set apart to provide for interest on Government loan of £1,500 for wharf and road purposes.
I hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a special order duly passed by the Le Bon's Bay Road Board on the 2nd March, 1887.
