of 4 miles 8¾ chains or thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over the following lands: Rural Sections Nos. 34052, 33737, 34053, Reserve No. 2430, Rural Sections Nos. 34055, 17770, 18545, Reserves Nos. 2372, 2373, Rural Sections Nos. 26795, 34049, 19909, Reserve No. 2007, and terminating at a point on the north-eastern boundary of said Reserve No. 2007 distant about 22 chains from the northernmost corner thereof: including all adjoining roads, reserves, streams, rivers, and watercourses; all in the Mount Somers Road District, in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand; in the manner delineated upon the plan marked 14644, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court, at Christchurch, in the Provincial District of Canterbury.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable, for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington-Napier Railway, to take further land at Hastings Station, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

SCHEDULE.

THE several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Proclaiming Porirua Lunatic Asylum, Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Lunatics Act, 1882,” it is enacted that the Governor in Council may from time to time, by Proclamation, proclaim any house or building provided or deemed suitable for the reception of lunatics, and wholly or in part supported out of any money appropriated for the purpose by the General Assembly, or wholly or in part supported by or at the cost of any local authority, to be a lunatic asylum within the meaning of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, do hereby proclaim that the buildings situated on Section number sixty and part of Section number sixty-two, Porirua Survey District, known as the Porirua Lunatic Asylum, being a house or buildings provided for the reception of lunatics, and wholly supported out of money appropriated by the General Assembly, to be a lunatic asylum within the meaning of the said “Lunatics Act, 1882.”
