Lands taken for a Road in East Tamaki Road District,
Provincial District of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in East Tamaki Road District, Provincial District of Auckland :

And whereas the East Tamaki Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, required by the said Act and the amendments thereof :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

All in the Provincial District of Auckland ; as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14645, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

Defining the Middle Line of Further Portion of the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway—Branch from Main Line to Upper Ashburton—Springburn Section.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Hurunui-Waitaki Railway, with a branch from the main line to Upper Ashburton, is one of the railways specified in the First Schedule to “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and which Act is, in the seventh section thereof, declared to be a special Act authorizing the construction of such railway ; and such railway is unfinished, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same, namely, Springburn Section :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred on me by the aforesaid section seven of “The Public Works Act, 1879,” and by sections one hundred and twenty-nine and one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be as defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the north-eastern boundary of Rural Section No. 34054 distant about 5 chains from the northernmost corner thereof, the said point being the termination of the Mount Somers Contract of the Upper Ashburton Branch-line of Railway, as described in the Proclamation dated the 8th May, 1885, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 31, and dated the 14th May, 1885 ; proceeding thence generally in a north-easterly direction for a distance
