Crown Lands, Provincial District of Canterbury, to be
leased on the Perpetual-lease System, under Section
161 of “The Land Act, 1885.”

Crown Lands Office,
Christchurch, 28th March, 1887.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned Crown
lands are open for lease, for a term of thirty years, with
the right of renewal for further terms of twenty-one years,
and that applications will be received on Saturday, the 30th
April, for the said lease, at the Land Office, Christchurch ;
and also by Mr. March, at the Railway Station, Hinds, on
the 28th April; and at the Courthouse, Ashburton, on the
29th April. The applications received by Mr. March will
bear the same date as those received at the Land Office,
Christchurch :—

Plan may be seen and particulars obtained at the Land
Office, Christchurch. Every application must be accom-
panied by a statutory declaration, the amount of the first
six months' rent, and a fee of 30s. Should there be more
than one application on the same day for the above reserve
the right to occupy shall be determined by lot.

Crown Lands on Perpetual Lease as Village Homestead
Special Settlements, under Section 163 of “The Land
Act, 1885,” and the Regulations issued by the Governor
under the Authority of the said Section, and published in
“Gazette” No. 45, of the 2nd September, 1886.—Land
District of Canterbury.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned sections are
open for lease for a term of thirty years, with the right
of renewal for further terms of twenty-one years, and that
applications will be received on Friday, the 22nd April, for
the said leases, at the Land Offices, Christchurch and
Timaru, and also by Mr. March, on Wednesday, the 20th
April, at the Railway-station, Glenavy. The applications
received by Mr. March will bear the same date as those
received at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru.

The only charge for the lease will be a fee of 10s. No
selector shall take up more than one allotment. Plans may
be seen at the Land Offices, Christchurch and Timaru, where
also copies of the Village Homestead Special-settlement
Regulations may be obtained.

Sale of Town Lands, Gisborne.

Terms of Sale: One-fourth of purchase-money to be paid
at time of sale, and the balance within two months there-
after, otherwise the part of the purchase-money paid by way
of deposit shall be forfeited, and the contract for the sale of
the land shall thenceforward be null and void. Crown-grant
fees to be paid on completion of purchase.

Maps of the above lands may be seen and further par-
ticulars obtained on application at this office, and at the
Land Office, Gisborne.

Lease of Pastoral Runs, Poverty Bay, under Part VI. of
“The Land Act, 1885.”—Land District of Auckland.

hereunder will be offered for lease, by public auction,
as pastoral runs, subject to the provisions of clauses 169 to
193 inclusive of “The Land Act, 1885,” at the Land Office,
Gisborne, on Monday, the 25th April next, at 11 o'clock in
the forenoon.

No. 42.

ARAKIHI NORTH RUN.—About 8,290 acres. Upset annual
rental, £100. Description of Land: Same as Arakihi South
Run.

No. 43.

ARAKIHI SOUTH RUN.—About 12,100 acres. Upset annual
rental, £125. Description of Land: Open and scrubby, a
little bush, good soil, very broken; unformed road through
block.

No. 44.

WAIHORA RUN.—8,905 acres. Upset annual rental, £110.
Description of Land: Bush and open, good soil, much
broken; no present access, but could be provided.

Arakihi and Waihora Runs are situated about forty miles
from Gisborne, by Ormond-Waimata-Waiapu Road.

No. 45.

WAINGAROMIA NO. 3 RUN.—586 acres. Upset annual
rental, £20. Description of Land: Good land, close to
Ormond-Waiapu Road, open and scrub.

No. 46.

MANGATOKERAU RUN.—5,450 acres. Upset annual rental,
£62. Description of Land: Good land, scrub and fern, but
mostly bush; access could be obtained from Tolago-Waiapu
Road without much expenditure; distant about twenty
miles from Uawa Township, Tolago Bay.

No. 47.

WHAREKOPAE RUN.—19,969 acres. Upset annual rental,
£62. Description of Land: Mostly bush, but some good
open and partly-grassed land in that part called Hihiroroa;
the west part is densely wooded with birch; access easily
obtainable by Ormond-Motu-Opotiki Road.

No. 48.

HANGAROA-MATAWHAI RUN.—12,019 acres. Upset annual
rental, £62. Description of Land: Mostly open, back part
rough, some few flats along river; no access at present.

The above lands are situated about thirty-two miles from
Gisborne, close to the Wairoa-Gisborne Main Road.

No. 49.

TAUWHARETOI NORTH RUN.—About 23,090 acres. Upset
annual rental, £80. Description of Land: Mostly bush, and
much broken in western part, some totara timber on river
frontage; accessible by a partly-formed bridle-road from
Patutahi.

No. 50.

TAUWHARETOI EAST RUN.—About 8,230 acres. Upset
annual rental, £125. Description of Land: Mostly open,
some fairly good flats along river, enough bush for fencing
and building, some grass.
