Lieutenant Charles Edward Tayton, from the Wellington Guards, to be Captain and Quartermaster. Date of commission, 5th February, 1887.

Arrangements for First Elections, &c., New County of Rotorua.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint

FRANCIS BERNARD SCOTT

to be the person to make up electors’ rolls for the North Riding and South Riding in the new County of Rotorua, as constituted under “The Counties Act, 1886;” also to appoint the said

FRANCIS BERNARD SCOTT

to be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of three members of the County Council of the said county for the North Riding; also to appoint

JOHN JAMES HENRY HALL

to be the Returning Officer to conduct the first election of three members of the said county for the South Riding; also to appoint Saturday, the 23rd day of April, 1887, to be the day upon which the said first elections of members of the said County Council of Rotorua shall be held; and also to appoint Saturday, the 30th day of April, 1887, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the Courthouse at Rotorua to be the place, at which the first meeting of the said Rotorua County Council shall be held.
