Exemption of Land at Te Aroha from Occupation under “The Mining Act, 1886.”

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Mining Act, 1886,” I William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted from occupation for mining purposes, or for water-races, dams, or reservoirs, or for machine, business, or residence sites.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land being Sections Nos. 3 and 4, Block V., Te Aroha Survey District, containing by admeasurement 60 acres. Bounded towards the North by the Putuwhao Block, 3058 links; towards the East by Section No. 15, 1995 links; towards the South by Sections Nos. 5 and 6, 2958 links; and towards the West by Section No. 2, 1956 links: be the said admeasurements a little more or less.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at Dunedin, this nineteenth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the one hundred and fifty-third section of “The Mining Act, 1886,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart for the discharge of water and tailings from the workings and mining operations adjacent to the said land.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 1 rood 12 perches, situate in the St. Bathan’s Survey District, Provincial District of Otago, commencing at the south-east corner of Section No. 36, Block I.; thence by a bearing 38° 1′ for 319·6 links; thence by a bearing 144° 44′ for 438·6 links; thence by a bearing 211° 9′ for 752·4 links; thence by a bearing 355° 15′ for 751·1 links back to starting-point.

New County of Rotorua divided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Counties Act, 1886,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby divide the new County of Rotorua, as constituted by the said Act, into two ridings, to be called the North Riding and the South Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof shall be those set forth under the names of the said ridings respectively in the Schedule hereto. And I do hereby declare that the number of members to be elected for each of the said ridings shall be as follows: For the North Riding, three members; and for the South Riding, three members.

And I do further declare that Saturday, the twenty-third day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, shall be the day upon which the election of the first Council of the said County of Rotorua shall take place; and that Saturday, the thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight
