ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of February, 1887.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Maungakawa-Waiorongomai Road, in the Waitoa Road District, shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

In the Provincial District of Auckland; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14516, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Fixing Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee, &c., Taranaki District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants and hares may be taken or killed within the Taranaki District, consisting of the Counties of Taranaki and Clifton, from the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at New Plymouth is hereby appointed to issue and sign the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-seven, both inclusive.

Subscriptions to Imperial Institute, London.

HIS Excellency the Governor directs it to be notified that he has received a telegram from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, who hopes that the Governor will organise measures for collecting, in the colony, contributions for the Imperial Institute in London. The organisation is proceeding throughout the United Kingdom, and Her Majesty the Queen has published her approval of the scheme.

In reference to the above it is hereby notified for general information that subscriptions for the object in question will be received by the Postmasters throughout the colony.
