A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken, under “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and its amendments, for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a road in Block nine, Reef ton Survey District, Provincial District of Nelson:

And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, as required by the said Act and the amendments thereof:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from and after the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes of the construction of the said road.

SCHEDULE.

THE several parcels of land mentioned in list hereunder:—

All in the Provincial District of Nelson; as the said parcels of land are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14083, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green, pink, and burnt umber.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the North Island Main Trunk Railway, from a point at or near Marton to Te Awamutu, via Murimotu, Taumarunui, and the Ongaruhe River Valley (portion of Porewa Section): And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the line of railway hereinbefore specified.
