Incorporation of the Society for the Relief of the Aged Needy,
Wellington, as a Separate Institution.

Premier’s Office,
Wellington, 21st December, 1886.

HIS Excellency the Governor in Council directs it to be
notified, in terms of section 43 of “The Hospitals
and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” that he has received
a petition from not less than fifty subscribers to the Society
for the Relief of the Aged Needy, Wellington, to which is
annexed a list signed by not less than 100 persons, in terms
of section 42 of the said Act, praying that the said society
may be incorporated as a separate institution; and that if
no counter-petition, signed by an equal or greater number
of such persons, shall have been delivered at the office of
the Colonial Secretary within one month after the publi-
cation of this notice, or if the United Board shall not
have lodged with the Colonial Secretary within the same
time an objection to such petition, the Governor in Council
will declare the said society to be a separate institution
under the said Act.

NOTICE is hereby given that THOMAS GEORGE DE RENZY,
of Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, Agent and
Importer, has applied to register, under “The Trade Marks
Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a de-
scription, viz.:—

Description of Trade Mark.

The words “not to be beaten” over the representation of
a broken drum with crossed drumsticks, and underneath the
words “Sanitary & Non Poisonous.”

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.

Wall-papers, white lead, varnish, and other merchandise
dealt in by the applicant, which are sanitary and non-
poisonous.

Board District, described as the Okain’s Part of the
District.—Proposal to raise £550 by Loan from Govern-
ment for Roadwork in this Part of the District.

I HEREBY notify that, at a poll taken on Tuesday, the 30th
November, 1886, the votes recorded were as follows:—

For the proposal .. .. .. 33
Against the proposal .. .. .. 3

As the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceeds
one-half of the total number of votes that could be exercised
in this part of the district, I declare the proposal duly
carried.

Akaloa Part of the Okain’s Road Board District.—Pro-
posal to raise Loan of £700.

I HEREBY give notice that, at a poll taken on Tuesday, the
30th November, 1886, the votes recorded were as follows:—

Against the proposal .. .. .. 7

As the number of votes in favour of the proposal is less than
one-half of the votes that could be exercised in this part of
the district, I declare the proposal not carried.
