Governors of Wellington College to be subject to provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886.”

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three of “The Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886” (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that His Excellency the Governor may, by Order in Council, from time to time declare that any leasing authority shall be subject to the provisions of the said Act, but that no such order shall be issued except at the request or on the recommendation of the leasing authority on whose behalf such order is to be issued :

And whereas it has been made to appear that the Governors of the Wellington College, situate in the City of Wellington, are a leasing authority within the meaning of the said Act, and have recommended to His Excellency the Governor that they, as Governors of the said college, may be brought under the provisions of the said Act :

Now, therefore, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the said Act, doth hereby order and declare that, from and after the date hereof, the Governors of the Wellington College, as such Governors, shall be subject to the provisions of “The Public Bodies’ Leaseholds Act, 1886,” and that the provisions of this order shall apply as well to lands vested in the said Governors for the purposes of a girls’ high school as to lands vested in them for the purposes of the college aforesaid.

Vesting a Reserve in the Blackstone Hill Public Library (Incorporated).

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was reserved for a site for an athenæum: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Blackstone Hill Public Library (Incorporated) :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in the Blackstone Hill Public Library (Incorporated), in trust, for a site for a public library.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, situate in the Township of Hills Creek, and being Section No. 7 of Block II. of said township. Bounded towards the North-east by the main street, 100 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 6 of same block, 250 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 26 of same block, 100 links; and towards the North-west by Section No. 8 of same block, 250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Vesting a Reserve in the Southland Acclimatisation Society Trustees.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto was purchased by the Superintendent of Southland for acclimatisation purposes: And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to vest the said land in the Trustees nominated by the Southland Acclimatisation Society :

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the fourth section of “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said reserve shall become vested in

JAMES FRANCIS COLLINS,
JAMES HARVEY,
WILLIAM YOUNG, and
AARON BLACKIE,

the Trustees nominated by the Southland Acclimatisation Society, in trust, for the purposes of the said society.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Southland Land District, containing 50 acres, in Block XV., Invercargill Hundred. Bounded on the North by a public road, 1974 links; on the East by the North Road, 2533 links; on the West by the Oreti Railway Reserve, 2533 links; and on the South by a line parallel to the northern boundary, 1974 links.

Order to take Land for a Road in the Tawhiti Block Provincial District of Auckland.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1886.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, order that a road, one hundred links wide, shall be constructed on or through all that parcel of land known as the Tawhiti Block, number eight hundred, being land held or occupied by Native owners, situate in the County of Mangonui.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of October, 1886.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as the Greymouth to Hokitika Railway shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

THE parcel of land mentioned hereunder:—

Approximate Area of the Parcel of Land required to be taken. Being Block. Situated in the Survey District of
A. R. P. 17 3 30 Native Reserve No. 30 XIII. Waimea.

In the Provincial District of Westland; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 14243, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
