  1. No person shall travel in any carriage or upon any platform thereof with loaded fire-arms.
  2. No passenger shall wilfully obstruct or impede any officer or servant of the company in the execution of his duty upon or in connection with any carriage or tramway of the company.
  3. The conductor of each carriage shall enforce these by-laws and regulations to the best of his ability; and, if any such conductor fails to enforce the same as aforesaid, he shall be deemed to have committed a breach of these by-laws and regulations.
  4. Any person offending against or committing a breach of these by-laws and regulations shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding 40s.
  5. The expression “conductor” shall include any officer or servant of the company having charge of a carriage. The word “carriage” shall mean and include every wheeled vehicle, whatever may be its form or construction, used by the tramway company as a tramway-carriage.
  6. There shall be placed and kept in a conspicuous position inside of each carriage in use a printed copy of these by-laws and regulations.
    Given under the common seal of the said tramway company, 3rd day of August, 1886.

WAIKATO CHEESE AND BACON FACTORY COMPANY (LIMITED), IN LIQUIDATION.

NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of section 202 of “The Companies Act, 1882,” that a General Meeting of the above-named company will be held at Mr. John Parr’s Store, Victoria Street, Hamilton, at 3 o’clock p.m., on Wednesday, the 15th day of December, 1886, for the purpose of receiving and considering the Liquidator’s account and report of the voluntary winding-up of the said company.

NOTICE.

WAIKATO CHEESE AND BACON FACTORY COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above company, held at its registered office, Hamilton, on the 15th day of September, 1886, the following special resolutions were carried unanimously, viz. :—

  1. “That the Waikato Cheese and Bacon Factory Company be wound up voluntarily.
  2. “That Captain James McPherson be appointed Liquidator, at a remuneration of £10.
  3. “That the Liquidator be instructed to dispose of the property and business of the company on such terms as will secure that the shareholders will be relieved from all further liability on payment of the thirteenth call.”
    And, at an extraordinary general meeting of the company, held at the same place on the 30th day of August, 1886, the said special resolutions were confirmed and finally passed.

NOTICE UNDER “THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1882.”

IT is proposed to close a road running between Allotments Nos. 39 and 75, Parish of Pukete, and to open in lieu thereof a new road, running generally in the same direction as that about to be closed, through the property of Dr. Carey. Any objections to the taking of the required lands must be lodged in writing with the Hamilton Road Board within forty days from this date.
Plans and description of proposed alterations can be seen at the residence of Mr. J. S. Edgecumbe, Frankton.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, CANTERBURY DISTRICT.

PURSUANT to an order of the Supreme Court of New Zealand, for its Canterbury District, made on the tenth day of September, 1886, in the matter of the estate of ROBERT WILKIN, and in a cause AGNES JOHNSTONE WILKIN, JOHN BARKER WILKIN, and ROBERT WILKIN, on behalf of themselves and all other the creditors of the said Robert Wilkin, against THOMAS WILLIAM MAUDE and JOHN DEANS, the Executors of the said Robert Wilkin, late of Christchurch, in the said district, and lately carrying on business there under the style of “Robert Wilkin and Co.,” as Merchants, who died in or about the month of June last past, are, on or before Thursday, the thirty-first day of March, 1887, to send, by post prepaid, to Messrs. Wynn Williams and Deacon, of 211, Hereford Street, Christchurch, in the said district, Solicitors for the Plaintiffs, or to Messrs. Harper and Co., of 215, Hereford Street aforesaid, Solicitors for the Defendants, the Executors of the deceased, their Christian and surnames, addresses, and descriptions, the full particulars of their claims, a statement of their accounts, and the nature of the securities (if any) held by them, or in default thereof they will be peremptorily excluded from the benefit of the said order. Every creditor holding any security is to produce the same before the Registrar of the said Court, at his chambers, situate in Durham Street, in Christchurch aforesaid, on Thursday, the twenty-eighth day of April next, at eleven o’clock in the forenoon, being the time appointed for adjudicating on the claims.

THE Partnership heretofore subsisting between WILLIAM FREDERICK KNIGHT, ARTHUR COWPER KNIGHT, FRANCIS JOHN KNIGHT, BENJAMIN LEONARD KNIGHT, and HERBERT DOUGLAS KNIGHT, at Hastings, Clive, Te Aute, and Tahoraite, in the Provincial District of Hawke’s Bay, as Contractors, Timber Merchants, and Sheepfarmers, under the style or firm of “Knight Brothers,” has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. The business of the firm heretofore carried on at Hastings aforesaid will be carried on by the said Benjamin Leonard Knight, to whom all debts due to the said firm in connection with the said Hastings business are to be paid, and by whom the liabilities of the said firm in connection with the said Hastings business are to be discharged. The debts due to the said firm in connection with their business, other than the said Hastings business, are to be paid to the said William Frederick Knight, Arthur Cowper Knight, and Francis John Knight, by whom all the liabilities of the firm, other than the liabilities of the said Hastings business as aforesaid, are to be discharged.
Dated at Hastings aforesaid, this first day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
