Constituting the South Wairarapa River District, County
of Wairarapa South.

A PROCLAMATION.

I N exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by “The River Boards Act, 1884,” I, Wil-
liam Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that, from
and after the date hereof, that part of the said colony de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is
hereby constituted a district under the said Act, and shall be
known by the name of the South Wairarapa River District ;
and that the number of the members who are to constitute
the Board of the said district shall be five. And I do also
proclaim and declare that William Skeet, of Greytown, shall
be the Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of five
members of the aforesaid Board ; that Wednesday, the
twentieth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, shall be the time, and the office of the Featherston
Road Board, at Featherston, shall be the place, for holding
such first election ; and that Saturday, the twenty-third day
of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, at
eleven o’clock in the morning, shall be the time, and the said
office of the Featherston Road Board shall be the place, at
which the first meeting of the members of the Board of the
said river district shall be held. And, lastly, I do proclaim
and declare that the aforesaid William Skeet shall be the
person to make a roll of electors for the purposes of the
aforesaid first elections in the manner prescribed by section
eight of the said “River Boards Act, 1884.”

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the County of Wairarapa South bounded
towards the North generally by Section No. 184, Wairarapa
Survey District, a road, Sections Nos. 185 and 180, a road,
and Sections Nos. 370, 372, and 374, a road, Sections Nos.
376 and 377, a road, Sections Nos. 448, 450, and 451, a road,
and Sections Nos. 484 and 485 ; towards the East generally
by the Tauherenikau River to a point due north of the north-
western angle of Maramanau East Block, by a right line to
and by said block, by a right line to the northern angle of
Section No. 3, Block XV., Wairarapa Survey District, by
that section and Section No. 7, said Block XV., and Sections
Nos. 9, 10, 11, 15, 12, and 42, Block XIV., a road, and the
Ruamahanga River, by Sections Nos. 23, 19, 30, 18, 17, and
16, Block II., said Wairarapa Survey District, by a right line
to the northern angle of Section No. 14, Block V., said
survey district, by that section and Sections Nos. 13, 68, 10,
52, and 9, said Block V., by a right line to the north-eastern
angle of Ferry Reserve, and by the eastern boundary of that

reserve; towards the South by the sea; towards the West
generally by a right line being the production in a southerly
direction of the eastern boundary of Section No. 61, Block
VI., Onoke Survey District, by that section and Sections
Nos. 25, 28, 31, 65, and 39, Block VII., said survey district,
by Sections Nos. 44 and 48, Block IV., said survey district,
by Sections Nos. 50 and 55, Block I., Wairarapa Survey Dis-
trict, and a right line to the north-eastern angle of Section
No. 11, Block IV., Onoke Survey District, by Section No. 12,
said Block IV., Sections Nos. 14, 18, 19, and 17, Block II.,
Onoke Survey District, and by the road through Section No.
75, said Block II., and through Sections Nos. 76, 77, 79, and
78, Block IX., Wairarapa Survey District, and Sections Nos.
80 and 81, Block V., said survey district, and forming the
eastern boundary of Section No. 10, Block VI., by a right
line from the northern angle of Section No. 82, said Block
VI., to the southern angle of Section No. 83, by Sections
Nos. 7 and 3, said Block VI., Sections Nos. 204, 203, 201,
199, and 197, said Block VI., and by Section No. 500, Block
II., Wairarapa Survey District : as the same is delineated
on the plans in the Survey Office, Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this sixteenth day of September, in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six.

in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

I N pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the roads described in the Schedule
hereto have been duly taken and laid off through the lands
specified under warrants of the dates given in the said
Schedule.
