being portion of road reserve, commencing at a point marked
X on plan, distant 45 links, and bearing 325° 5′ from the
3-mile peg on the Brunner Railway. Bounded as follows:
By a line bearing 44° 14′ for 705 links; by the bank of the
Kaiata Creek in a general south-westerly direction for 375
links; by a line bearing 224° 14′ for 330 links; thence to the
commencing-point by a line in a general south-easterly
direction for 102 links.
Also all that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods 4 perches, more or less, situate in the
Survey District of Arnold, Provincial District of Westland,
being portion of road and railway reserve, commencing at a
point marked A on plan, distant 145 links, and bearing 145°
from the 3-miles 25-chains peg on the Brunner Railway.
Bounded as follows: By a line bearing 60° 50′ for 117 links;
by a line bearing 2° 1′ 53″ for 296·8 links; by a line bearing
245° 56′ for 720·9 links; by a line bearing 82° 7′ for 555 links;
thence to the commencing-point by a line bearing 182° 1′ 36″
for 136 links.
All the above areas and linkages being either more or less;
as the same are more particularly delineated on the plan
marked P.W.D. 13946, deposited in the office of the Minister
for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District
of Wellington, and thereon coloured red, blue, burnt sienna,
and neutral tint.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions:
It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of sixty
days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and
in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the aliena-
tion of the said land.

All that parcel of land in the County of Piako, containing
by admeasurement 45 acres 1 rood 27 perches, more or less,
being part of Section No. 15, Block IX., Te Aroha Survey
District. Bounded towards the North-west by a line, being
the production in a north-easterly direction of the north-
western boundary of Section No. 16 of the said Block IX.,
2300 links; towards the North-east by a line bearing east
51° 15′ south, 2271 links; towards the South-east by the pro-
duction of the northern side of Wilson Street, and by that
street, 3841 links; again towards the North-west and towards
the South-west by the said Section No. 16, 1358 links and
1100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as the
same is delineated on the plan in the Survey Office, Auck-
land.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon
me by the one hundred and sixty-second section of
"The Land Act, 1885," I, William Francis Drummond
Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the sections of land de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are
hereby set apart and declared open for application as village
special settlements for perpetual leasing, on Friday, the
third day of September, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, upon the terms and conditions fixed by Order in
Council issued on the second day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-six, and made under the one hundred
and sixty-third section of the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.
Punakitere Survey District.
All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Provincial
District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1,300
acres, more or less, being parts of Blocks I., II., V., and VI.,
Punakitere Survey District, commencing at the north-east
corner of the Parnell Endowment. Bounded generally on
the North-west by a Native reserve, 439 links and 534 links;
thence generally on the North by the Punakitere River to a
Native reserve; thence by the said Native reserve, 2753 links
and 64 links, to the said Punakitere River; thence generally
on the North and East by the Punakitere River and by lines,
898 links, 995 links, and 1370 links; thence generally on the
South-east by lines, 712 links, 2149 links, 1497 links, 269
links, 252 links, 1050 links, 4810 links, and 5800 links; thence
on the West by the Parnell Endowment, 12434 links, to the
starting-point: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or
less. To be selected in areas not exceeding 50 acres for each
person over seventeen years of age. At a rental of 1s. per acre
per annum.
