granted to the Colonial Secretary by the sixth section of the

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of August, 1886.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers vested in him by
"The Cemeteries Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885," and
of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby delegate to the Council of the County
of Patea the powers conferred upon him by section six of
"The Cemeteries Act, 1882," as to the appointment and
removal of Trustees for the cemetery described in the
Schedule hereto; and doth declare that this Order in
Council shall take effect as from the first day of September
next.
SCHEDULE.
MANUTAHI CEMETERY.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, containing 10 acres 1 rood 34 perches. Bounded
towards the North-east by a public road, 706 links; towards
the South-east by Lot No. 11, Hawera District, 1465 links;
towards the South-west by part of Lot No. 9, 696 links; and
towards the North-west by a public road, 1525 links.

Validating Action of Parihaka Road Board, County of
Taranaki, as to Retirement of Members.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of August, 1886.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS the Board of the Parihaka Road District
failed to determine, at the first meeting of the Board
after the general election, by lot, the order in which one-
half of the members of the said Board should vacate their
office, as provided by section three of "The Road Boards Act
1882 Amendment Act, 1883," but the said Board did, at its
second meeting after such general election, make such deter-
mination: And whereas doubts have been expressed as to
the validity of such determination, and it is expedient to
remove such doubts and to validate the determination as
made as aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred upon
him by "The Road Boards Act, 1882," and acting by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, doth hereby validate the determination by the said
Board of the order in which one-half of the members of the
said Board should vacate their office, in manner aforesaid,
and all proceedings incident thereto.

Opunake Recreation-ground brought under "The Public
Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of August, 1886.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by
the twenty-fourth section of "The Public Reserves
Act, 1881," I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, do hereby order and declare that the reserve made
for public recreation in the Provincial District of Taranaki,
and known as the Opunake Recreation-ground, and de-
scribed in the Schedule hereto, shall be and the same is
hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be
subject to the provisions of "The Public Domains Act, 1881;"
and such domain shall hereafter be managed, administered,
and dealt with in manner directed by the said Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 20 acres, be the
same a little more or less, being Section No. 105, Block I.,
on the map of the Opunake Survey District. Bounded
towards the North by Sections Nos. 69 and 70, 1899.4 links;
towards the East by a public road, 716.9 links; towards the
South by Rahotu Road, 2005.3 links; and towards the West
by Section No. 69, 1141.1 links.

"The Public Domains Act, 1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this third day
of August, 1886.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by the twelfth section of "The Public
Domains Act, 1881," it is, inter alia, enacted that
the Governor, by Order in Council, may from time to time
delegate all or any of the powers by the said Act conferred,
save as is therein mentioned, to any person or persons for
any period, and subject to such stipulations as may be speci-
fied in such order, and that every such delegation may from
time to time in like manner be altered or revoked: And
whereas, pursuant to "The Public Reserves Act, 1881," by an
Order in Council of even date herewith, the land described in
the Schedule thereto is declared to be brought under the
operation of and to be subject to the provisions of the said
"Public Domains Act, 1881:"
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by and with
the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
Colony of New Zealand, doth, by this present order, delegate
all the powers conferred by the Act first above mentioned,
except the powers under or conferred by sections five and
twelve, to
The TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL,
which shall be known as the Opunake Domain Board
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the stipula-
tions hereinafter contained, that is to say,

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of business on
    the fourth Wednesday in each month, at two o'clock p.m.,
    at the County Council Offices, New Plymouth, or at such
    other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by
    the Board. The first meeting shall be held on Wednesday,
    the twenty-fifth day of August, one thousand eight hundred
    and eighty-six.
  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman or
    by any two members of the Board, provided that two days'
    notice of such meeting be given to each member, specifying
    the business to be transacted at such special meeting, and
    no other business than that so specified shall be transacted
    at such meeting.
  3. Any three of the said Board shall form a quorum. Any
    meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
  4. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
    Wednesday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
