Revoking the Setting-apart of land in Otago for Agricul-
tural Lease.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The Mines
Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things, enacted that
it shall be lawful for the Governor to cause Crown lands
situate within a goldfield to be selected and set apart for the
purpose of granting agricultural leases thereon and therefor,
or for alienation by occupation licenses on deferred payments
under any law for the time being in force in the land district
in which such mining district is situate :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was, by Proclamation dated the fourteenth day of July,
one thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, set apart for
agricultural lease :
And whereas it is deemed expedient to revoke the said
Proclamation in so far as it relates to the land mentioned in
the Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby revoke
the said Proclamation of the fourteenth day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, in so far as it
relates to the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the one hundred and fourth section of
"The Land Act, 1885," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from time
to time set apart out of any suburban or rural lands such
blocks or allotments of land as he shall think fit, and set
the same aside for sale on deferred payments, and in such
Proclamation may fix a day on which the land shall be
open for application ; and that he may also in like manner
set apart for sale on deferred payments such blocks or
allotments as may be recommended by any Land Board,
and may also from time to time alter, amend, or revoke
any such Proclamation: And whereas the lands specified in
the Schedule hereto were, with other lands, by Proclamation
dated the eighteenth day of September, one thousand eight
hundred and seventy-eight, proclaimed as set apart for sale
on deferred payments: And whereas it is expedient to
withdraw the said land from the deferred-payment system :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby revoke the Proclamation above
referred to, so far as it relates to the sections therein men-
tioned and included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim
and declare that the said sections are hereby withdrawn from
the operation of the deferred-payment system.

Native Lands acquired by Her Majesty declared to be Crown
Lands.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section two hundred and forty-seven of
"The Land Act, 1885" (hereinafter termed "the
said Act"), it is enacted that whenever the Governor is
satisfied that any Native lands acquired by Her Majesty
in any way, or purchased out of any sums authorized, or to
be authorized, to be issued and expended in the purchase of
lands in the North Island of New Zealand are free from
Native claims and all difficulties in connection therewith, he
shall, by Proclamation, declare such lands to be Crown lands,
subject to be sold and dealt with as in the said Act is more
particularly mentioned: And whereas the lands described
in the Schedule hereto are surplus lands in the land claim of
Marriner and Bowyer, acquired by the issue of scrip in pur-
chase thereof ;
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, being satisfied
that the lands described in the Schedule hereto are free from
Native claims and all difficulties in connection therewith, do
hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and declare the lands
described in the Schedule hereto to be Crown lands, subject
to be sold and dealt with according to the provisions of the
laws regulating the sale and disposal of Crown lands in force
in the Land District of Auckland.
SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, con-
taining by admeasurement 387 acres, more or less, situate
in Block X., Mangamuka Survey District, and being the
land called or known by the name of Marriner's Claim ;
commencing at a point on Hokianga River being the termi-
nation of the south-eastern boundary of the Pakeretu Block.
Bounded towards the North and East by high-water mark
of Hokianga River aforesaid, from the place above named to
a point being the termination of the production in a south-
easterly direction of the north-eastern boundary of a School
Reserve No. 3294; towards the South-west by lines, 460
and 6998·6 links respectively; and towards the North-west
by lines, 4344·2 and 2759·5 links respectively, to the com-
mencing-point: save and excepting from the above area the
land held under land transfer title by the Hokianga Saw-
mill Company, and containing 53 acres, more or less; also
land granted to one Gundry, containing 3 acres 1 rood
38 perches, more or less; and also Sections Nos. 18 and 19 of
Block X., Mangamuka Survey District, containing 10 acres
2 roods 32 perches and 4 acres 1 rood 24 perches respectively,
more or less, to be granted by Government in satisfaction of
certain old land claims.
