Gold-mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of "The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Lyell on or before the 16th day of February, 1886.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden's Office at Lyell.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANT: James Hart. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: The Empress Quartz-mining Company. 16 acres 2 roods, at Eight-mile, Lyell, in the Nelson South-west Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this twelfth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-mining leases cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no leases of the said ground had ever been applied for:-

Albert Parsons; 16 acres 2 roods, No. 4, Mathias Mining District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the under-mentioned applications for gold-mining leases have been refused; and the ground is now open to persons holding miners' rights or business licenses as if a lease of the said ground had not been applied for, viz:-

Zoffany C. Horne (the Constitutional Gold-mining Company, Limited); 16 acres 2 roods, Stoney Creek, Waimangaroa. Dated 25th September, 1885.

Henry Swain and Thomas Scanlon (the Constitutional Quartz-mining Company); 16 acres 2 roods, Stoney Creek, Waimangaroa. Dated 6th October, 1885.

IT is hereby notified that the under-mentioned application for a gold-mining lease has been withdrawn, and that the ground is now open for application as if a lease of the same had never been applied for, viz:-

The application of James Stanley (the Koranui Quartz-mining Company), dated the 14th December, 1885; 16 acres 2 roods, situate at Waimangaroa.

Application for Rehearing of Claim dismissed.

NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND: DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Whangarei, in the said district, on the 5th day of November, 1885, upon the hearing of a claim for investigation of title to land situate in the said district, and known as "Taumatahinau;" and in the matter of the application of Te Atimana for a rehearing upon such claim:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Whangarei, in the said district, on the 5th day of November, 1885, upon the hearing of claims to succeed to the interest of Tirarau Kukupa in Allotments Nos. 20, 126, 136, 224, 225, 26, 56, 67, 145, 146, 42, 97, 187, and 279 of the Township of Grahamstown, in that district; and in the matter of the application of Toitu te Ruu for a rehearing upon such claims:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.

Notice under "Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883."

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by "The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883," give notice that on the 9th day of January, 1886, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 18th day of February, 1886.
