appears expedient to make the reserves hereinafter men-
tioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the
seventeenth section of "The Land Act, 1885," and of all
other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare
that the lands enumerated in the first column of the Sche-
dule hereto shall be and the same are hereby reserved for
the purposes respectively stated opposite to the descriptions
of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of
the Town of Papakura, as constituted under the provisions
of "The Town Districts Act, 1881," on the seventeenth day
of August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

Notification of the Payment of Money on and Entry into
Negotiations for the Acquisition of Native Lands in the
North Island.

In pursuance of the provisions of "The Government Native
Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is hereby notified that
money has been paid by or on behalf of Her Majesty the
Queen for the purchase or acquisition of the parcel of Native
land in the North Island which is more particularly de-
scribed and mentioned in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
that negotiations in respect of such purchase or acquisition
as aforesaid have been entered into by or on behalf of Her
said Majesty.

SCHEDULE.

Kaiti Block (Part of).

All that parcel of land at Tauranganui, in the District of
Poverty Bay, in the Provincial District of Auckland, extend-
ing in length from the mouth of the Turanganui River at
Waikahua, along the sea coast at high-water mark of ordinary
tides to Papawhariki Point, and with a uniform depth inland
throughout the said length thereof of 2 chains.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this nineteenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six.
