figure of a white man. On a scroll beneath the group of
figures are the words and figures "Adapted as a certain
remedy for most complaints, by Professor Holloway, 533,
Oxford St., London."

No. 3 consists of a circular label bearing the words and
figures "Holloway's Pills. Sold at 1/1½, 2/9, 4/6, 11/, 22/, &
33/ each, by the proprietor, 533, Oxford St., late of 244,
Strand, London." Said words being enclosed with an orna-
mental circular border.

No. 4 consists of a circular label bearing the device of a
shield, upon which are the words and figures "Holloway's
Ointment. Sold by the Proprietor, 533, Oxford St., late
244, Strand, London. In pots, 1/1½, 2/9, 4/6, 11/, 22/, & 33/
each." Surrounding the shield is scroll and ornamental
work, and the whole is enclosed within a circular border.

No. 5 consists of a narrow oblong label, about the centre
of which is the representation of a woman seated on a throne,
and holding in her right hand a goblet, from which a serpent
coiled around a pillar is drinking. On top of said pillar
incense is burning. On the woman's left hand stands a
little child supporting a slab bearing the words "Never
despair." Above the woman is a ribbon, upon which are the
words "Holloway's Ointment." On the left are the words
"For the cure of Gout and Rheumatism. Manufactured
only by the Proprietor," and on the right are the words and
figures "Inveterate Ulcers, Sore Breasts, Sore Heads, Bad
Legs, &c. 1/1½, 2/9, 4/6, 11/, 22/, & 33/ pr. pot. 533, Oxford
St., London."

No. 6 consists of a circular label bearing the representa-
tion of a woman seated on a throne, and holding in her
right hand a goblet, from which a serpent coiled around a
pillar is drinking. On top of said pillar incense is burning.
On the woman's left hand stands a little child supporting a
slab bearing the figures and words "533, Oxford St., London.
In pots at 1/1½, 2/9, 4/6, 11/, 22/, & 33/ each." On the
lower portion of the throne are the words "Holloway's Oint-
ment." The whole being enclosed within two concentric
circles.

No. 7 consists of an oblong label, about the centre of
which is the representation of an aged man ministering to
the wants of a number of sick persons of both sexes. In the
upper portion of the label are the words "Patronized by the
greatest medical men of the age," and in the lower portion
are the words "Holloway's Pills; sold at the establishment,
533, Oxford Street (late 244, Strand), London, and by all
medicine vendors throughout the civilized world." The whole
being enclosed within an ornamental oblong border.

No. 8 consists of an oblong label, about the centre of which
is the representation of an aged man grasping in his left
hand a staff, around which is coiled a serpent, and standing
amidst a number of sick persons of both sexes. In the upper
portion of the label are the words "Patronized by the
greatest medical men of the age," and in the lower portion
are the words "Holloway's Ointment; sold at the establish-
ment, 533, Oxford Street (late 244, Strand), London, and by
all medicine vendors throughout the civilized world." The
whole being enclosed within an ornamental oblong border.

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.

As to Nos. 1, 3, and 7, each to apply to pills.

As to Nos. 2, 4, 5, 6, and 8, each to apply to ointment.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent
Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has
applied, on behalf of KNIGHT, BEVAN, and STURGE, of 17,
Leadenhall Street, in England, and Northfleet, in Kent,
England aforesaid, Cement Manufacturers, to register, under
"The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks numbered
from 1 to 3, of which the following is a description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of a circular label bearing the representation
of a pyramid. Above the pyramid is the name "Knight,
Bevan, & Sturge," and below the pyramid are the words
"Pyramid, London." The whole is enclosed by two con-
centric circles, and in the space between such circles is
printed the name of the article in respect of which the mark is
used, such as "Portland Cement."

No. 2 consists of the device of a pyramid.

No. 3 consists of the special and distinctive word "Pyra-
mid."

Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent
Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has
applied, on behalf of of WIGGINS, TEAPE, AND COMPANY, of 10,
Aldgate, in the City of London, in England, Paper Manufac-
turers, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the
trade marks numbered 1 and 2, of which the following is a
description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of the special and distinctive words
"Southern Cross."

No. 2 consists of a label divided into two compartments.
In the larger of these, within an oblong frame, is the device
of a mirror, about the centre of which is a monogram com-
posed of the letters and abbreviation "W. T. C. & B."
Horizontally across the face of the mirror is a narrow oblong
tablet bearing the words "One Ream." In the upper portion
of the mirror are two oval frames, that on the left contain-
ing the word "Number," and that on the right the word
"Weight" and the abbreviation "lbs." In the lower portion
of the mirror is an oval frame containing the representation
of a greyhound-dog couchant and resting upon a crest-bar.
The smaller compartment contains a narrow oblong frame,
and within the frame, between scroll-work at either end, are
the initials and abbreviation "W. T. C. & B."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.

Finsbury Pavement, in the City of London, in England,
Pickle and Sauce Makers and Italian Warehousemen, to
register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade
marks numbered from 1 to 5, of which the following is a
description, viz.:—

Description of Trade Marks.

No. 1 consists of a circular label, in the upper portion of
which is the device of a shield bearing the representation of
a crown. Beneath the shield is the signature "Batty &
Co." and the word "London," the whole being enclosed
within a circular border.

No. 2 consists of an oblong label bearing the representa-
tion of a man, in a sitting posture, with legs crossed, in the
act of eating pickles from a jar. On the jar are the words
"Batty's Nabob Pickles." On the man's right hand is a
bottle bearing the words "Batty's Nabob Sauce."

No. 3 consists of an oblong label bearing the representa-
tion of a man, in a sitting posture, with legs crossed, in the
act of pouring sauce from a bottle down the throat of a fish.
In the right-hand lower corner of the label are two bottles,
one bearing the words "Batty's Nabob Sauce," and the other
bearing the words "Batty's Nabob Pickles."

No. 4 consists of the special and distinctive word "Nabob."

No. 5 consists of an oblong label divided into three com-
partments, each compartment having an arched top. In the
