Gold-mining Leases cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-mining leases cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no leases of the said ground had ever been applied for:—

No. 957c. Joseph Cox and others; Section 11, Hedgehope; 5 acres, Otago District.

No. 952c. Joseph Cox and others; Section 9, Hedgehope; 12 acres 1 rood 10 perches, Otago District.

No. 956c. Joseph Cox and others; Section 10, Hedgehope; 13 acres, Otago District.

No. 953c. Joseph Cox and others; Section 6, Hedgehope; 10 acres, Otago District.

Gold-mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Objections to the granting of such lease, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Charleston on or before the 28th day of July, 1886.

Copy of the application made and plan annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Charleston.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: James O’Donnell, John O’Donnell, A. O’Donnell, and Daniel Lawry. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: The Great Extended Gold-mining Company. 8 acres, at Croninville, in the Nelson South-west Mining District.

Under section 161 of “The Land Act, 1885,” only one allotment can be held by any one person. Every application must be accompanied by a statutory declaration, the amount of the first six months’ rent, and a fee of £1 10s. Should there be more than one application on the same day for the same allotment, the right to occupy shall be determined by lot.

Should two or more applications be made on the same day, the land will be put up to public auction, limited to the applicants.

NOTICE is hereby given that applications will be received at the Crown Lands Office, Napier, on Thursday, the 8th July next, for ten sections in the Woodville Village Special Settlement.

In event of more than one application being received for any section on the 8th July, the right to occupy the same will be decided by lot amongst the applicants, at the Court-house, Woodville, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, the 10th July.
