Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS, Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of Victoria, has applied, on behalf of STOLLWERCK BROTHERS, of Cologne, in the German Empire, Manufacturers, to register, under “The Trade Marks Act, 1866,” the trade mark of which the following is a description, viz.:

Description of Trade Mark.

An oblong label, diagonally across which is a band bearing the words “Dr. Michaelis’ Acorn-Cocoa.” On the upper side of the band are the leaves and seeds of the Theobroma cacao, and on the lower side are oak-leaves and acorns. In the left-hand upper corner is the device of a cross, and in the right-hand lower corner are the words “Manufactured by Stollwerck Brothers. Specially appointed Purveyors of the leading Courts of Europe, Cologne.”

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade Mark shall apply.

THAT the number of members to represent the Meanee Ward be increased to three; also that the number of members to represent the Taradale Ward be increased to three.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was passed at a full meeting of the Meanee Road Board, held on the 16th June, 1886, and that the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” relating to special orders, have been duly complied with.

Special Order made by the Avon Road Board, County of Selwyn.

THE following special order, made by the Avon Road Board, is published in accordance with “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

SPECIAL ORDER.

At a special meeting of the Avon Road Board, duly called for that purpose, and of which public notice and notice to each member of the Avon Road Board was duly given, and which meeting was held at the office of the said Board on the 21st day of June, 1886, the said Board did make and pass the following resolution, namely:—

“That, in pursuance of the powers vested in it by ‘The Road Boards Act, 1882,’ and various Acts amending the same, this Board do now make a special order abolishing the existing subdivisions or wards of the Avon Road District, and reconstitute subdivisions or wards with amended boundaries, and that such special order shall be in the words and figures following, that is to say: The Avon Road Board, in the County of Selwyn, in the Colony of New Zealand.—In the matter of ‘The Road Boards Act, 1882,’ and the Acts amending the same.—Special order abolishing the existing subdivisions or wards of the Avon Road District, and reconstituting subdivisions or wards with amended boundaries.

“Whereas in pursuance of section 11 of ‘The Road Boards Act, 1882,’ and the various Acts amending the same, a petition having been presented to the Avon Road Board praying the Board, by special order, to abolish the existing subdivisions or wards, and reconstitute subdivisions or wards with amended boundaries:

“Now, therefore, the Board, in pursuance and exercise of the power given to it by the said Acts, doth hereby declare that the existing subdivisions or wards be abolished, and ordain and declare that they be reconstituted with amended boundaries; and, further, that the said amended boundaries of the said subdivisions or wards shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto, and shall also be known by the numbers or names mentioned in the said Schedule; and that, so soon after the gazetting of this notice as may be convenient, the Board as it now stands shall be dissolved, and a general election take place, at which five members shall be returned, namely, one member for each subdivision or ward; such election to be conducted in accordance with ‘The Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876.’”

Be and the same is hereby confirmed.

I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true copy of the resolution constituting the special order, under clauses of “The Road Boards Act, 1882,” and various Acts amending the same, passed by the Board on the 21st June, 1886.

Descriptions of proposed Subdivisions of the Avon Road District.

No. 1 Subdivision (Papanui Ward): Bounded towards the North by the centre of the Styx River, from the western boundary of the Avon Road District to the eastern boundary of Section 295; thence generally towards the East by the eastern boundary of Section 295, by the south-eastern boundaries of Sections 295, 294, 285, and 1141, also by the eastern boundaries of Sections 1134, 1119, 1118, and 1071; thence generally towards the South-east by Kelly’s Road, Philpott’s Road, and the Borough of St. Albans; thence towards the South-west, North-west, and West by the south-western, north-western, and western boundaries of the Avon Road District.

No 2 Subdivision (Belfast Ward): Bounded towards the North and North-west by the northern and north-western boundaries of the Avon Road District; towards the South, South-east, and again towards the South by the centre of the Styx River.

No. 3 Subdivision (Richmond Ward): Bounded towards the North by Subdivision No. 1, and by Sections 1052, 1139, and 7671; towards the East generally by Sections 2550, 2542, 887, 1456, 880, 557, 231, and 184A; towards the South-east generally by the south-eastern boundary of the Avon Road District; towards the West by the Boroughs of Christchurch and St. Albans; and towards the South-west by the latter borough and Subdivision No. 1.

No. 4 Subdivision (New Brighton Ward): Bounded generally towards the North by Sections 1131, 1053, 1132, and Reserve 1310 (in red); thence towards the West by the western boundaries of Sections 7943 and 21361; thence again towards the North by Sections 5682, 2624, 5673, and 5492; thence again towards the West by Section 5492; thence again towards the North by Sections 5825 and 16034, and the northern side of the road south of 16034 produced easterly to the sea; thence towards the East by the sea; thence towards the South-west and South-east by the south-western and south-eastern boundaries of the Avon Road District, and also by No. 3 Subdivision.

No. 5 Subdivision (Styx Ward): Bounded towards the North by Subdivision No. 2; towards the North-west generally by Subdivisions Nos. 1 and 2; towards the South generally by Subdivisions Nos. 3 and 4; and towards the East by the sea.
