  1. The members of the Board shall, at their first meeting,
    and thereafter at an annual meeting to be held on the second
    Monday in January in every succeeding year thereafter,
    elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the
    discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting
    vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of
    his successor.

  2. If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the
    time appointed for holding the same, the members present
    shall choose some one of their number to be Chairman of
    such meeting.

  3. If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or otherwise,
    the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant, the mem-
    bers may at any monthly or special meeting appoint a Chair-
    man.

  4. All questions shall be determined by the majority of
    votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.

SCHEDULE.

ALL those several parcels of land in the Borough of Timaru,
in the Land District of Canterbury, viz. :

46 acres 2 roods 44 perches, more or less, being a portion of
Reserve No. 344 (in red). Bounded—Northward by the
Hospital grounds 660 links, by Queen Street, and by Reserve
278 (in red); Eastward by the Hospital grounds 695 links,
and by High Street; Southward by the Boulevard, 2 chains
wide; and Westward by King Street and by Reserve No. 278
(in red).

5 acres 3 roods 37 perches, more or less, being a portion of
Reserve No. 262 (in red). Bounded—Northward by Browne
Street; Eastward by Rose Street, 1136 links; Southward by
the Gaol grounds; and Westward by the Boulevard, 2 chains
wide.

All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Borough of
Timaru, bounded Northward by Queen Street; Westward by
King Street; Southward and Eastward by Reserve No. 344,
and being known as Reserve No. 278.

WHEREAS by the two hundred and twenty-seventh
section of “The Land Act, 1885,” it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been sur-
veyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding
that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any
Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of
the purposes in the said section mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land
in the Land Districts of Auckland, Taranaki, Marlborough,
and Otago, described in the Schedule hereunder written, for
the purposes in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land being called, or known as
Section No. 50, Town of Woodside, Waitemata Survey
District, Provincial District of Auckland, and containing by
admeasurement 31 perches, more or less. Bounded towards
the North by a public road-line, 185 links; towards the East
by Shoal Bay; towards the South by Section No. 51, Town
of Woodside aforesaid, 208 links; and towards the West by
a public road-line, 92 links, to the point of commencement :
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. Site for a pound.

All that piece or parcel of land situate in the Provincial
District of Auckland, being Lot No. 20 of Section No. 5,
Parish of Pakuranga, and containing by admeasurement 4
acres 2 roods 27 perches, be the same more or less. Bounded
towards the North by Lot No. 63, 1081 links; towards the
East and South by Lot No. 17 of Section No. 5 aforesaid and
part of the termination of a road, 50 links wide, 433 links and
1081 links respectively; and towards the West by part of the
termination of a road, 50 links wide aforesaid, and Lot No. 21
of Section No. 5 aforesaid, 433 links: be all the aforesaid
linkages more or less. For a quarry.

TARANAKI.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 1 perch,
more or less, being parts of Sections Nos. 1022 and 1023 on
the map of the Town of New Plymouth. Bounded towards
the North-east by Gover Street, 102·5 links; towards the
South-east by Pendarves Street, 252 links; towards the
South-west by Section No. 1021, 102·5 links; and towards
the North-west by parts of Sections Nos. 1022 and 1023, 252
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a site
for a drill-shed and parade-ground.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Taranaki, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods
14 perches, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1000, 1001,
1002, 1003, 1004, 1005, 1014, 1015, 1016, 1017, 1018, 1019, 1020,
and 1021 on the map of the Town of New Plymouth.
Bounded towards the North-east by Sections Nos. 1006 and
1022, 410 links; towards the South-east by Pendarves Street,
1008 links; towards the South-west by Liardet Street, 205
links; towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 998 and 999,
252 links; towards the South-west by Section No. 999, 205
links; and again towards the North-west by Lemon Street,
756 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a
recreation-ground.

MARLBOROUGH.

All that area of land situate in Wakamarina and Heri-
nga Survey Districts, Provincial District of Marlborough,
estimated to contain 900 acres, more or less; commencing
at a point on the Ronga River distant 20 chains from its
junction with the Rai River. Bounded thence by a line
bearing due west to the Brown River; thence by a right
line to the north-west corner of Section No. 51, District
of Rai Valley; thence by the western and southern boun-
daries of that section and the southern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 52, 53, and 55 to the Rai River; thence by that river to
its junction with the Ronga River, and by the Ronga River
to the place of commencement: as the same is delineated
on the plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Blenheim.
For a State forest.

OTAGO.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Otago, containing by admeasurement 2·5 perches, situate
within Section No. 15, Block IX., Town of Fortrose; com-
mencing at the south-west corner of Section No. 7 of same
block, and bearing from thence by a line due south for a
distance of 210 links to the starting-point; thence due East
for a distance of 40 links; thence due South for a distance
of 40 links; thence due West for a distance of 40 links;
thence due North to the starting-point for a distance of 40
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a
cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-sixth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-six.

reserved under the said two hundred and twenty-seventh section may, at the expiration of one month but not later than
six months after the publication in the Gazette of notice of such temporary reservation, be permanently reserved, and that
notice of such permanent reservation shall be published in the Gazette :

And whereas the lands specified in the first column of the Schedule hereto were, by the several warrants the dates of
which are specified in the third column of the said Schedule, and the notifications of which were published in the Gazette
specified in the fourth column, temporarily reserved under the authority of the said Act for the purposes specified
in the second column of the said Schedule :

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and
exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby permanently reserve the lands so temporarily
reserved as aforesaid, and enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the second
column of the said Schedule, being the same purposes for which the said lands were so temporarily reserved as aforesaid.
