KAIPARA.

All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North by the Resident Magistrate's District of the Bay of Islands, as the same is defined by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-ninth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight, from Koutu Point to the Wairua River; thence towards the East and again towards the North by the Resident Magistrate's District of Whangarei, as the same is defined by a Proclamation bearing date the twenty-sixth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-one; and again towards the East by the sea to the mouth of the Waiwera River; thence towards the South-east and again towards the South generally by the Resident Magistrate's District of Auckland, herein-before described, to the West Coast; and thence towards the South-west by the ocean to the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this ninth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Altering Boundaries of Takapuna Licensing District, and defining Devonport Licensing District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licensing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the commencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the Gazette, from time to time define districts to be licensing districts under the said Act, and from time to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the same:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the boundaries of the Takapuna Licensing District, which shall, from and after the eighteenth day of June instant, be those described in the First Schedule hereto; and do also hereby proclaim and define the part of the colony mentioned and described in the Second Schedule hereto to be, from and after the said eighteenth day of June instant, an ordinary licensing district for the purposes of the said Act.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

TAKAPUNA.

All that area known as the Road Districts of Birkenhead and Northcote, as described by a special order in the New Zealand Gazette No. 13, 1st February, 1884, and the Road District of Lake, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, 18th May, 1883.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

DEVONPORT.

All that area known as the Borough of Devonport, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 27, 6th May, 1886.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eleventh day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

Abolishing all Wards in the Borough of Nelson.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by "The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876," section twenty-four, it is enacted that if not less than one-half of the burgesses of a borough divided into wards petition the Governor, praying him to abolish such wards, the Governor may, by Proclamation, declare such wards to be abolished; and such borough shall thereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough: And whereas not less than one-half of the burgesses of each of the wards of the Borough of Nelson have petitioned me to abolish the wards in the said borough:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the hereinbefore-recited authority, do hereby proclaim and declare that all the wards in the said borough of Nelson shall be, and the same are hereby, abolished; and the said borough shall hereafter be deemed to be an undivided borough.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zealand, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such land, and application has been made for the removal of such restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excellency the Governor in Council, immediately after the expiration of sixty days from the publication of this notice in the Gazette and in the Kahiti, to remove the said restrictions on the alienation of the said land.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twentieth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
