Altering Boundaries of Resident Magistrates’ Districts of Auckland and Kaipara.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by “The Resident Magistrates Act, 1867,” it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor from time to time, by Proclamation in the New Zealand Gazette, to constitute throughout the colony, or in any part thereof, districts to be called Resident Magistrates’ districts, and such districts from time to time to abolish, and the boundaries to define and alter, and in any such Proclamation to fix a time on and from which any such district shall be constituted or abolished, as the case may be:

And whereas by Proclamations bearing date the eleventh day of July, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-two, and the twentieth day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in him, did define the boundaries of the Resident Magistrates’ Districts of Kaipara and Auckland, as described in the said Proclamations respectively:

And whereas it is expedient to alter the boundaries of the said districts so defined as aforesaid:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities so vested in me as aforesaid, do hereby alter the boundaries of the said Districts of Kaipara and Auckland respectively, and define them as described in the Schedule hereto, as and from the first day of July next.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North-west generally by the Taupaki Block from the ocean to the north-western corner of Section No. 1, Parish of Waipareira, Waitemata Survey District; thence towards the North by the northern boundary-line of that section to Brigham’s Creek; thence towards the West by the left bank of that creek to its confluence with the Waitemata River; thence towards the South-west generally by the right banks of that river and the Rangitopuni River to the Waitate Stream; thence by that stream to the easternmost corner of Section No. 55, Parish of Paremoremo; thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section No. 53 of the said parish; thence by that section to the Ararimu River; thence by that river to the south-western boundary-line of Section No. 41 of the last-mentioned parish; thence by that boundary-line to the westernmost corner of Section No. 41 aforesaid; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 60, Parish of Ararimu, Waitemata Survey District; thence by the western boundary-line of that section to the southern boundary-line of Section No. 59 of the last-mentioned parish; thence again towards the North by that Section to its easternmost corner; thence again towards the West by a road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 59 to the southernmost corner of Section No. 57; thence again towards the North-west by Sections Nos. 57 and 56 to the easternmost corner of the said Section No. 56; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section No. 35, Parish of Pukeatua; thence again towards the North by Sections No. 35 aforesaid and 36 of the same parish; thence again towards the West by Sections Nos. 36 and 38; thence towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 38 aforesaid and 30, 31, 32, 33, and 34 of the Parish of Pukeatua aforesaid to the Waipuakakahu Stream; thence again towards the North-west generally by that stream to the southern boundary-line of Section No. 306; thence again towards the North and West by that section to its north-eastern corner; thence towards the South-west by the Waipapakauri Stream and the Kaukapakapa River to the eastern boundary-line of Section No. 64, Parish of Kaukapakapa; thence towards the West generally by the said Section No. 64 and Sections Nos. 62, 59, 56, and 51 of the said Parish of Kaukapakapa, across a road, and by Section No. 26 to its north-eastern corner; thence again towards the North by the road forming the northern boundary of Section No. 27; thence again towards the West by the said Section No. 27; thence again towards the North by Section No. 28; thence again towards the North-west and West by the Parishes of Kaukapakapa and Makarau respectively; again towards the North by the latter parish and the County of Rodney to the ocean; thence towards the East by the Hauraki Gulf, the Waitemata Harbour, the Tamaki River, and Tamaki Strait to the mouth of the Wairoa River; thence towards the South generally by the Road Districts of Wairoa, Papakura, and Manurewa respectively, as the same are described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 42, of the 18th May, 1883, to Manukau Harbour, and thence by that harbour; and again towards the South-west by the ocean to the place of commencement: including the islands of Motutapu, Rangitoto, Waiheke, Ponui, Great Barrier, Little Barrier, and other adjacent islands.

ERRATUM.—In New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the 14th January, 1886, under appointment of officers, Dunedin Highland Rifle Volunteers, for “Rev. Donald McNaughton,” read “Rev. Donald McNaughton Stuart” to be Honorary Chaplain.
