THE WAIPAWA INDEPENDENT NEWSPAPER AND PRINTING COMPANY (LIMITED).

PURSUANT to section 192 of “The Companies Act, 1882,” notice is hereby given that the following special resolutions were passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders in this company, held at Waipawa on the 27th April, 1886, and confirmed at an extraordinary general meeting of the said shareholders, held at Waipawa on the 27th May, 1886:—

  1. “That this company agrees to sell the whole of its property, consisting of plant, &c., connected with the newspaper and jobbing departments of the Waipawa Mail, goodwills, and all stocks, implements, and sundries belonging thereto, to Messrs. Tanner, McHardy, Hunter, and Chamier, and others, for the sum or at the price of 5s. sterling per share on the total subscribed capital of the company, the purchasers taking over all the assets and liabilities connected with the Waipawa Independent Newspaper and Printing Company as it now exists.”

  2. “That it is voluntarily agreed amongst the shareholders in this company that it be wound up as soon as possible after the date of passing this resolution.”

  3. “That Mr. Ebenezer Harwood be appointed Liquidator, whose duty it will be to give effect to the foregoing resolutions.”

In the matter of “The Companies Act, 1882,” and in the matter of the Champion Copper-mining Company of New Zealand (Limited).

Monday, the thirty-first day of May, 1886.

UPON reading the order made herein on Monday, the third day of May, 1886, and the affidavit of Arthur D’Oyly Bayfeild, sworn and filed herein on the thirty-first day of May, 1886, and upon hearing Mr. Pitt, of counsel for the petitioner herein, and Mr. Harley, of counsel for certain shareholders in the Champion Copper-mining Company of New Zealand (Limited), and there being no Judge of this Court resident within the Nelson Judicial District of this Court, I do order that the time for proceeding with the winding-up of the said company be extended to Wednesday, the fourteenth day of July, 1886, at the hour of eleven of the clock in the forenoon, at the chambers of the Registrar of this Court at Nelson; and I do further order that a meeting of the shareholders in the said company be held at the office of the said company, in the City of Nelson, on Tuesday, the twenty-ninth day of June, 1886, at the hour of eight of the clock in the evening, for the purpose of ascertaining generally the wishes of the said shareholders in reference to the winding-up or otherwise of the said company; and I do further order that this order be advertised as soon as practicable in the New Zealand Gazette, and also in the Evening Mail and The Colonist newspapers, published in the said City of Nelson.

NOTICE is hereby given that, at an extraordinary general meeting of the Shareholders of the Hokianga Saw-mill Company (Limited), held at Picton, on the first day of June, 1886, the following special resolution was passed: “That the Hokianga Saw-mill Company (Limited) be forthwith wound up voluntarily; and that Messrs. John Milne and J. H. Dalton be appointed Liquidators.”

In the matter of the Wellington and Manawatu Railway Company (Limited), and of a Bill to validate the creation of additional capital, under a resolution of the company, passed on the 21st day of April, 1885, and the issue of shares and debentures issued and to be issued in respect thereof.

NOTICE is hereby given that application is intended to be made to the General Assembly of New Zealand, at its present session, for leave to bring in a Bill to validate the creation of the additional capital of £500,000, divided into 100,000 shares of £5 each, and the issue of shares and debentures issued and to be issued in respect thereof, as provided by a resolution passed at a general meeting of the company, duly convened and held on the 21st day of April, 1885; and that printed copies of the said Bill have been deposited in the office of the Examiner of Standing Orders, and a printed copy thereof has been deposited in the office of the Colonial Secretary.

I, HENRY WILLIAM HEATH, of the City of Auckland, in the Provincial District of Auckland, the General Attorney and Agent for the London and Lancashire Fire Insurance Company (Limited) in the Provincial District of Auckland and the northern portion of the Provincial District of Taranaki, hereby give notice, in terms of “The Foreign Companies Act, 1884,” that the offices or places of business of the said company in the Provincial District of Auckland and the northern portion of the Provincial District of Taranaki are situated and located as follows, that is to say,—

CHANGE OF NAME.

NOTICE is given that, by deed-poll, under hand and seal, bearing date the 16th day of November, 1885, and enrolled in the High Court of Justice in England (Chancery Division) on the 23rd day of November, 1885, ARTHUR ANSELL BULLOCK-WEBSTER, of No. 15, Glazbury Road West, Kensington, Middlesex, Gentleman, but formerly of Christchurch, Canterbury, in the Colony of New Zealand, theretofore called, known, or distinguished by the name of “Arthur Berkeley Webber,” did declare that he had renounced, and by the said deed-poll did renounce, discontinue, and abandon, the surname of Berkeley Webber, and assumed, taken, and adopted the surname of Bullock-Webster as his only surname; and that he would thenceforth, upon all occasions whatever, use and subscribe, and be called, known, and distinguished by, the name of Bullock-Webster.
