Reserves Sale Act, 1878," fixing the terms and conditions
upon which certain village-settlement lands therein enu-
merated should be disposed of, it was stated that the land
in the Township of South Rakaia being reserve number
two hundred and sixty-five (in red) should be disposed of in
areas of not less nor more than five acres in extent, at the
price of ten pounds per acre :
And whereas it is expedient to increase the area which
any settler may hold to twelve acres in extent :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance
of all powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf,
and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby amend
the Order in Council aforesaid so far as it affects the areas
in which the land in the Village Settlement of the Township
of South Rakaia shall be subdivided, and doth declare that,
on and after the date hereof, any settler at present residing
in the village settlement aforesaid may apply for such addi-
tional area of land as will not exceed, together with the land
at present held by him, a total area of twelve acres; and it is
hereby further declared that all the provisions of the Order
in Council of the fifth day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty, aforesaid shall apply, except as regards
the area in which the sections may be held, to the Village
Settlement in the Township of South Rakaia aforesaid.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this nineteenth
day of May, 1886.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir
William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent
of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order that the Government work known as the Thames
Valley and Rotorua Railway, having an average width of
three hundred links, shall be constructed on or through all
lands held or occupied by Native owners, as mentioned in
the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point on Section No. 1 of the Thames
Valley and Rotorua Railway, the said point being situated
in the Mangakaretu Block No. 1, and about thirty-seven
miles distant from Morrinsville, on said Section No. 1 of said
railway, and passing in, through, or over the following lands,
viz., Mangakaretu Block No. 1, Whakaaratamaiti No. 1,
Whakaaratamaiti No. 2, Whakaaratamaiti No. 3, Whaiti-
Kuranoi No. 1A (northern portion), Whaiti-Kuranoi No. 1B,
Okohiriki No. 2A, Okohiriki No. 2B, Okohiriki No. 2E, Oko-
hiriki No. 2C, Okohiriki No. 2D, Native lands of Ngongataha
not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands of Wai-
kuta not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands of
Kawaha not yet passed the Native Lands Court, Native lands
of Koutu Nos. 1 and 2 not yet passed the Native Lands
Court, the land known as the Government Telegraph
Paddock, the Tarewa Block, lands known as Pukeroa-o-
Ruawhata; the Town of Rotorua, being the reserve between
Omohau Street and Pereaika Street; Pereaika Street; Sec-
tions Nos. 8, 9, 10, and 11 of the Suburbs of Rotorua: all
within the Counties of Piako and Tauranga, in the Provincial
District of Auckland; including all adjoining and intervening
places, lands, roads, streams, reserves, rivers, and water-
courses; in the manner delineated upon the plan marked
P.W.D. 13720, deposited in the office of the Minister for
Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of
Wellington, the total length being about thirty-two miles.

passing in, through, or over the following lands, &c. : Henry
Alley's land at Hikutai; A. McAskill's land at Hikutai;
Kaimanawa Block; Native land; Te Komata North; Te
Komata South; Tawakarewakauri; land granted to J. Thorp;
Hararahi No. 1; Hararahi No. 2; Opatito; Te Arero-o-Hua-
tata No. 2; Te Paeroa; Te Arero-o-Huatata No. 1; Blocks
Nos. 5858, 5370; Muraoteahi, 5814, 1875, 5800, 4454; Koro-
matua Nos. 1, 2, and 3; Te Manukau; Te Waka-o-tiki te
Aroha; Otamaurungarui; Takapau; Taumatawhine No. 2;
Native land; Mangamutu; Te Paeroa No. 1; Ngakuoneone;
Waitoki; Karaka; Te Maire; Patuwhao; Sections Nos. 1,
5, 15, 16, 18, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, and Pa Reserve,
Te Aroha Goldfield; Ruakaka; land owned by Ema Lipsey;
and terminating at a point on the north-western boundary
of Emma Street, Te Aroha Goldfield Township, situate in
Block IX., Te Aroha Survey District: all within the Coun-
ties of Thames, Ohinemuri, and Piako, Provincial District
of Auckland, Colony of New Zealand; the same being more
particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 7365,
deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at
Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington,

Altering Times of Meeting of the Land Board of the Land
District of Hawke's Bay.

WHEREAS by the forty-third section of "The Land
Act, 1885," it is provided that the Land Boards of
the respective land districts shall sit at the Land Office in
the principal town of the land district, at certain times to be
determined by the Board and approved of by the Governor,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette :
And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excel-
lency the Governor, dated the thirteenth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the nineteenth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, it was appointed
that the Land Board of Hawke's Bay should sit on the
twenty-seventh day of February, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-five, and on the last Friday in each month
thereafter, at 2 o'clock p.m. :
And whereas the Land Board of Hawke's Bay did, on the
thirtieth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
six, pass a resolution recommending that the time of sitting
should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to the
said recommendation :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of
the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do
hereby fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of
the Land Board of the Land District of Hawke's Bay shall
be held on the third Wednesday in each month, at half-past
eleven o'clock a.m., commencing on Wednesday, the sixteenth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six,
instead of on the last Friday in each month, at two o'clock
p.m., as heretofore appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-eighth day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six.

surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstand-
ing that the same may be then held under pastoral license,
