THE UNITED INSURANCE COMPANY.

In the matter of “The Foreign Companies Act, 1884,” and of the United Insurance Company.

NOTICE is hereby given that the appointment of Mr. JOHN STUART REID as Attorney for the United Insurance Company in New Zealand, under and for the purposes of the above Act, has been revoked, and that the following are the offices where the business of the said company is intended to be carried on, and at which legal proceedings may be served upon the company and all notices or communications sent:—

In Wellington, to the care of the Colonial Insurance Company, Wellington.

In Auckland, at the office of Arthur Heather, Queen Street.

In Napier, at the office of David Balharry, Agent, New Zealand Shipping Company.

In Nelson, at the office of J. H. Newman, Hardy Street.

In Christchurch, at the office of James S. Jameson, Hereford Street.

In Dunedin, at the office of Neilly and Company (Limited), Bond Street.

WAIKOHU ROAD BOARD.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the Waikohu Road Board to execute a public work by the taking of the land described in the accompanying Schedule for a public road. The works to be executed on this line of road are formation and metalling to a width of 20 feet, and construction of drains for the passage of surface-water.

Plan of the land proposed to be taken may be seen at the house of Mr. E. E. Knight, Pukepapa. Any person having any objection to the proposed works are requested to state their objections in writing, and send the writing to the office of the Waikohu Road Board on or before the 30th day of May, 1886.

The number of insertions required must be written across the face of the advertisement.

Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a commission at the rate of 5 per cent.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received by the Government Printer before two o’clock of the day preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should be made payable.

Postage or duty stamps cannot in any case be received in payment from any place at which post office orders are issued.

NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAYMENT BEING MADE.
