the boundaries of the Mauku and Pukekohe West Road
Districts:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby ordain and declare that the boundaries of the said district as at present constituted shall
cease to be the boundaries of the said districts, and that
the Road Boards of the said districts shall be dissolved, and
that the boundaries of the said districts shall be those
which are specified in the Schedule hereto, and that the
Road Boards of the said districts shall each consist of five
members; and, further, that the first election of members of
the new Boards shall be conducted in accordance with "The
Regulation of Local Elections Act, 1876," and doth appoint
William Shanaghan to be the Returning Officer to conduct
such elections; and His Excellency doth further appoint
that the said elections of the Mauku Road District shall be
held on Saturday, the twelfth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six, and that the first meeting of
the new Board shall be held at the Schoolhouse, at Mauku,
on the sixteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six, at noon; and further that the said elections
for the Pukekohe West Road District shall be held on
Monday, the fourteenth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-six, and that the first meeting of the
new Board shall be held at the Schoolhouse, at Pukekohe,
on Wednesday, the sixteenth day of June, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six, at noon.
SCHEDULE.
THE Mauku Road District shall comprise all that area in the
County of Manukau bounded towards the North generally
by the Manukau Harbour; towards the East generally by
Sutton's Creek and the Parishes of Karaka and Pukekohe
West; towards the South generally by Sections Nos. 33, 35,
37, 40, 41, 43, 42, and 1, Parish of Puni, and Section No. 2,
Parish of Waiuku East; and towards the West generally by
Sections Nos. 79, 80, 81, and 112, said Parish of Waiuku East,
and the south-eastern boundary-line of said Section No. 112
produced to the middle of the tramway-line; thence by the
middle of the tramway-line to a point in line with the south-
eastern boundary of Section No. 90; thence to and by that
section and Section No. 108 and a right line to the middle
of the road forming the north-eastern boundaries of Sections
Nos. 105 and 104, said Parish of Waiuku East, and a line
along the middle of that road to the Mauku (Taihiki)
Estuary; and thence by that estuary to the Manukau
Harbour.
The Pukekohe West Road District shall comprise all that
area in the County of Manukau bounded towards the
North, from the north-western corner of Section No. 11,
Parish of Waiau, by the Parishes of Waiau and Karaka;
towards the East generally by Sections Nos. 2, 5, 29, 15, and
12, Parish of Pukekohe, to the Auckland and Waikato Rail-
way, and by that railway to the Otutainui Stream; thence
by that stream to its confluence with the Whakapipi Stream;
thence by that stream and Sections Nos. 4 and 3, Parish of
Tuakau, and a line along the middle of the road forming part
of the north-eastern boundary of Section No. 2 and by Section
No. 1, said Parish of Tuakau, to its south-western corner;
and thence by a right line due south to the Waikato River;
towards the South generally by a line along the middle of
the Waikato River to a point in line with the south-western
boundary of the Purapura Native Reserve; thence towards
the South-west generally by a right line to and by the western
boundary-lines of said Native reserve and of Section No. 2,
Parish of Waiuku East; towards the North-west and again
towards the South-west by the Mauku Road District, herein-
before described, to the point of commencement.

Special Order altering the Boundaries of the Hunua Road
District, and constituting a new Road District, to be called
the Opaheke North Road District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twelfth
day of May, 1886.
Present:
His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by section six of "The Counties Acts
Amendment Act, 1885," it is provided that all the
powers of a County Council relating to the alteration of the
boundaries of any road or town districts within a county,
or of amalgamating any of such districts, or of merging any
of them into the county, and all other powers in relation
to any such districts exercisable by the Council, by special
order or on petition, may be exercised by the Governor in
Council in respect of any of the counties wherein the said
Act is suspended: And whereas "The Counties Act, 1876," is suspended in the County of Manukau: And whereas in
pursuance of "The Road Boards Act 1882 Amendment Act,
1883," petitions have been presented to His Excellency the
Governor praying His Excellency, by special order, to alter
the boundaries of the Hunua Road District, and to constitute a new road district:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities vested in him as aforesaid, and acting by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, doth hereby ordain and declare that such part
of the Hunua Road District as is comprised within the
boundaries firstly described in the Schedule hereto shall constitute a new road district, to be called the Opaheke North
Road District; and it is also declared that the number of
members of the Board of the said Opaheke North Road District shall be five. And His Excellency, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid, doth hereby
appoint William Shanaghan to be Clerk to the Board of the
said Opaheke North Road District so constituted as aforesaid, to hold office until a Chairman or a Clerk is appointed
by the said Board; and doth also appoint the said William
Shanaghan to be the Returning Officer to hold the first
election of members of the said Opaheke North Road Board,
and Saturday, the fifth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-six, as the day for such election. And
His Excellency doth further appoint Wednesday, the ninth
day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, at
the hour of noon, and the Schoolhouse, at Drury, as the
place, for the first meeting of the said Opaheke North Road
Board.
And whereas, in consequence of the erection of the Opa-
heke North Road District out of a portion of the Hunua
Road District, it is necessary that the Road Board of the
said Hunua Road District should be dissolved, and that
provision should be made for the election of a new Board:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, in exercise
of the powers vested in him as aforesaid, doth hereby order
that the Road Board of the Hunua Road District shall be
dissolved, and the same is hereby dissolved accordingly; and
that the election of a new Board for the said road district
shall take place on Monday, the seventh day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, and that William
Shanaghan, of Papakuru, be the Returning Officer to conduct
such election; and that the first meeting of the new Board
shall be held at the Schoolhouse, Hunua, on the ninth day
of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, at noon.
And His Excellency the Governor doth further order and declare that the boundaries of the Hunua Road District shall
be those secondly set out in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
OPAHEKE NORTH ROAD DISTRICT.
All that area in the County of Manukau bounded towards
the North-west and East generally, from the Town District
of Papakura, by the Parish of Hunua; towards the South-
east by Sections Nos. 152 and 148, Parish of Opaheke, the
road forming the north-western boundary of Sections Nos.
184 and 185, by Section No. 189, the road forming the north-
western boundary of Section No. 224, said Parish of Opa-
heke, and the northern side of that road produced to the
Great South Road; thence towards the West generally by a
line along the middle of that road to Slippery Creek; thence
by that creek and the Hingahia and the Pahurehure Creeks
to the Town District of Papakura; and thence towards the
North generally and again towards the West generally by
the said Town District of Papakura.
HUNUA ROAD DISTRICT.
All that area in the County of Manukau bounded towards
the North generally by Sections Nos. 30 and 31, Parish of
Hunua, by the Parish of Papakura, and Sections Nos. 22,
78, 135, 132, 76, 109, 3, 147, 146, 83, and 113, Parish of Hunua;
towards the East by the Wairoa River; towards the South
generally by the Mangawheau River and the Parish of Opa-
heke; and towards the West by the Opaheke North Road
District, hereinbefore described.
