APPLICATION having been made to me by JOHN ORSON MCARDELL, of New Zealand, Auctioneer, to register a dealing affecting Section 20, Block XVIII., Town of Invercargill, being a discharge of Mortgage No. 3357 of which mortgage the said JOHN ORSON MCARDELL is the registered proprietor, and a statutory declaration of the loss of the said mortgage having been lodged with me, I hereby give notice that I shall register such dealing at the expiration of fourteen days after the date of the gazetting of this notice unless in the meantime a caveat be lodged forbidding the same.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Lawrence, Tuapeka Mining District.

THE Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lawrence hereby give notice that they intend to alter and extend a Water-race (No. 1550; date, 21/5/70) to divert and use water for domestic and irrigation purposes, commencing at a point 60 chains from the head of Race (No. 1550; date, 21/5/70), and carrying the water at a higher level in a southerly course to the Reservoir on Section No. 6, Block LIV., Town of Lawrence. The length of such race is six miles, or thereabouts, and the intended course is southerly. The mean depth of such race is 1 foot, and the mean breadth is 1 foot 6 inches, and it is proposed to divert five Government heads of water.
Applicants: The Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Lawrence.
Date and Number of Miner’s Right: 21/5/85. No. 51,478.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden and Mining Registrar at Reefton, in the Inangahua Mining District, and to all other persons whom it may concern.

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-race and divert water for the purpose of supplying the Government Buildings at Reefton with water, for the prevention of fire, and for other industrial pursuits: such race commencing in the Township of Reefton on the first creek which crosses William Street to the east of Bridge Street, and terminating in the Township of Reefton, at the reservoir on the terrace at the back of the Government Buildings, and about 60 feet above same.
The length of such race is three chains or thereabouts, and its intended course is from the commencing-point on the creek already mentioned, round the side of the hill, and along the terrace behind the Government Buildings, to the reservoir already mentioned.
The mean depth of such race is 1 foot 3 inches, and the mean breadth is 1 foot 9 inches, and it is proposed to divert four Government-heads of water.
The dimensions of the reservoir are 20 feet x 20 feet x 6 feet, and the situation of the by-wash is at the north end of the reservoir.

PUBLIC NOTICE.

In the matter of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the various Amendments thereof.

NOTICE of intention to take lands for widening a road situate in the St. Bathans Riding of the County of Maniototo, and also in the Survey District of Blackstone, in the Provincial District of Otago:
Notice is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and the several amendments thereof, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the widening of a road in the above riding and district respectively, and for the purposes of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is further given that a plan, showing the proposed widening, as well as the lands intended to be taken therefor, is deposited and open for inspection at the County Office of the County of Maniototo, situate at the corner of Earn and Leven Streets, in the Borough of Naseby. And notice is also given that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work, or the taking of the said lands, are hereby required, if they have any well-grounded objection to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, to set forth such objection in writing, and to send such notice within forty days from the 26th day of March, 1886, to the Maniototo County Council, at the said offices, Earn Street, Naseby.

THE SCHEDULE ABOVE REFERRED TO.

All that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 2 roods 28 poles, more or less, situate in the St. Bathans Riding of the County of Maniototo, and being part of Section 20, Block II., on the map of the Blackstone Survey District. Bounded on the North by other part of the said Section 20; on the South by a road-line; on the East by a road-line; and on the West by a road-line: as the same is approximately delineated in the said plan so deposited as aforesaid at the County Offices aforesaid.
