District Judge at Auckland, to be a Commissioner to ascertain and determine the terms of the verbal contract entered into by John Edwin Macdonald, then Mayor of the Thames Borough, with one Thomas Spencer, of Parawai.

Time and Place for First Meeting of Contributors to Hokitika Benevolent Society.

HIS Excellency the Governor has, in terms of section 49 of “The Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” appointed Wednesday, the 14th day of April next, at 8 o’clock p.m., to be the time, and the Town Hall, Hokitika, to be the place, for the first meeting of the contributors to the Hokitika Benevolent Society.

Special Order made by Meanee Road Board.—Subdividing District into Wards.

THE following special order made by the Meanee Road Board is published in accordance with the provisions of “The Road Boards Act, 1882.”

EDWARD RICHARDSON,
(For the Colonial Secretary.)

SPECIAL ORDER to subdivide the Meanee Road District into Wards, passed by the Meanee Road Board on the 11th Day of February, 1886.

“That the Meanee Road District be subdivided into three wards, to be known as the Meanee, Taradale, and Papakura Wards.

“The Meanee Ward to be represented by two members, and to contain all that portion of land situated between the eastern boundary of the Taradale River District and the Tutaekuri River.

“The Taradale Ward to contain all that portion of land known as the Taradale River District, and to be represented by two members.

“The Papakura Ward to contain all that portion of land lying to the east and south of the Tutaekuri River, and to be represented by three members.”

The resolution, on being put to the meeting, was carried unanimously.
