ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of
February, 1886.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him
by "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of all other
powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excel-
lency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor
of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth
hereby order that the Government work known as construc-
tion of defence works at Ngahauranga, in Block XII.,
Belmont Survey District, Wellington Road District, shall
and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land
more particularly described in the Schedule hereto.

Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wel-
lington, and thereon coloured red.

Fixing Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee,
&c., Geraldine County District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and the Acts amending the same,
I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants
and Californian quail may be taken or killed within the
Geraldine County District, consisting of that part of the
Geraldine County lying north of the Ophihi River, from the
first day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six,
to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the
restrictions in the said Acts mentioned), and that licenses to
kill such game within such district shall be issued on pay-
ment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses
to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of
five pounds each; and that the Postmaster at Temuka is
hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further
notify that native game (except tuis) may be taken or killed
within the said district from the first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six,
both inclusive.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-six.

Hawke's Bay District, comprising the Counties of Hawke's
Bay, Waipawa, and Wairoa, from the first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both
inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said
Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to
take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued
on payment of the sum of twenty-one shillings each, and that
licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the
sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Napier
is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do
further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be
taken or killed within the said district from the first day of
April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the
thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-six, both inclusive.
