NOTICE.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of "The Public Works Act, 1882," "The
Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1884," and "The
Public Works Act 1882 Amendment Act, 1885," to execute
certain works, to wit, the straightening and forming of
Church Street, Waverley Street, and Kenilworth Street, in
the Township of Abbotsford, now called Waipawa, in the
Waipawa Town Board District and the Waipukurau Survey
District, and the taking of land for the purpose of forming a
public road through Blocks XLV. and XLVI., Waipukurau
Survey District, in the said Waipawa Town Board District.

And for the purposes of such public works the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken.
And notice is further given that the plans of the said streets
and roads required to be straightened and formed, and of the
land so required to be taken, are deposited in the office of
the Waipawa Town Board, and are there open for inspection.

And notice is hereby given that all persons affected by the
execution of the said public works or by the taking of the
said lands shall, if they have any well-grounded objections
to the execution of the said public works or to the taking of
such lands, set forth the same in writing, within forty days
from the first publication of this notice, to the Chairman of
the Waipawa Town Board District, Waipawa.

In the matter of "The Companies Act, 1882," and of the
PICTON COAL COMPANY (LIMITED).

THE creditors of the above-named company are required,
or or before the 15th day of February, 1886, to send
their names and addresses, and the particulars of their debts
or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors, if
any, to William Syms, of Picton, the Official Liquidator of
the said company, and, if so required, by notice in writing
from the said Official Liquidator, are by their solicitors to
come in and prove their said debts or claims at the Judge's
Chambers, at the Courthouse, Blenheim, at such time as
shall be specified in such notice, or, in default thereof, they
will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made
before such debts are proved. Tuesday, the 16th day of
February, 1886, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon, at the said
Chambers, is appointed for hearing and adjudicating upon
the debts and claims.

paper, and signatures, &c., should be written in a legible
hand.

The number of insertions required must be written across
the face of the advertisement.

Booksellers and Advertising Agents will be allowed a commission at the rate of 5 per cent.

The New Zealand Gazette is published on Thursday evening in each week, and notices for insertion must be received
by the Government Printer before two o'clock of the day
preceding publication.

Communications should be addressed to the Government
Printer, Wellington, to whom post office money orders should
be made payable.

Postage or duty stamps cannot in any case be received in
payment from any place at which post office orders are issued.

NO ADVERTISEMENT WILL BE INSERTED WITHOUT PREPAYMENT BEING MADE.
