ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighth day of February, 1886.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby order that the Government work known as construction of defence works at Ngahauranga, in Block XII., Belmont Survey District, Wellington Road District, shall and may be constructed on or through the parcel of land more particularly described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of January, 1886.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE THE PREMIER PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of all other powers enabling me in that behalf, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, order that a road, having an average width of one hundred links, and extending from the Wharauroa Block, near Aotea Harbour, to and along the shore of the said harbour and over the land adjacent thereto, across the Peninsula to Kawhia Harbour, along the shore of Kawhia Harbour and the land adjacent thereto, easterly across the Oparau Stream past Hikurangi, and northerly down the left bank of the Makuraru Stream and the Waipa River past Whatiwhatihoe to Alexandra, shall be constructed on or through land held or occupied by Native owners.

Fixing Shooting Season for Imported Game, License Fee, &c., Taranaki District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants may be taken or killed within the Taranaki District, consisting of the Counties of Taranaki and Clifton, from the seventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at New Plymouth is hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the seventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirtieth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and “The Animals Protection Act Amendment Act, 1881,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants, Californian quail, and hares may be taken or killed within the Wanganui District, consisting of the County of Wanganui and the Ridings of Okakapu, Porewa, Wangaehu, Makohau, and Parae Karetu, in the County of Rangitikei, from the fifteenth day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty-one shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at Wanganui, and the Postmasters at Waverley, Waitotara, and Marton, are hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this eleventh day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The Animals Protection Act, 1880,” and the Acts amending the same, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants, Californian quail, and hares may be taken or killed within the Manawatu District, consisting of the Counties of Manawatu, Oroua, and Horowhenua, from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in the said Acts mentioned). And I do further notify that licenses to take or kill such game within the said district shall be issued on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of five pounds each; and the Postmasters at Palmerston and Feilding are hereby appointed to issue the said licenses. And I do further notify that native game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within the said district from the first day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of March, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-six.
