All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 28 acres, more or less, situate in Block V., Leeston Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury. Bounded towards the North by Section No. 4256, 4200 links ; towards the South-east by the Southern Railway Reserve, 1100 links ; and towards the South-west by the River Selwyn: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; and numbered 2706 (in red). For river conservation.
OTAGO.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, situate in the Town of East Gore, and being Section No. 7, Block XXIII., of said town. Bounded towards the North by Sections Nos. 1, 2, and 3 of said block, 1091·9 links ; towards the East by Section No. 6 of same block, 458 links ; towards the South by Sections Nos. 9 and 8 of said block, 1091·9 links ; and towards the West by Hamilton Street, 458 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a quarry.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood, more or less, situate in the Town of Kurow, and being Sections Nos. 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of Block II. of said town. Bounded towards the North-west by Section No. 2 of said block, 250 links ; towards the North-east by road reserve, 500 links ; towards the South-east by Section No. 8 of the said block, 250 links ; and towards the South-west by Main Street, 500 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For police purposes.
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by admeasurement 16 acres, more or less, situate in the Glenkenich District, and being Section No. 11 of Block IV. of said district ; commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 2 of said block and district, and bearing from thence by a line due north for a distance of 364 links to the starting point ; thence due east for a distance of 1227 links ; thence due south for a distance of 1478 links ; thence due west for a distance of 1363 links ; thence due north for a distance of 1478 links ; thence due east for a distance of 136 links to the starting point : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. For an addition to the cemetery site.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Reserve at Westport.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Governor may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the purposes named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act, whether the same be granted or not ; and, in the case of any reserves made under the authority of section two hundred and twenty-seven of “The Land Act, 1885,” if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is intended to be so made :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare my intention to change the specific purpose of the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule hereto to the specific purpose set opposite such description in the second column of the said Schedule.
