NOTICE is hereby given that the several parcels of land hereinafter described will be brought under the provisions of “The Land Transfer Act, 1870,” unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same on or before the 22nd February, 1885.

  1. FREDERICK RICHARD PARKES and ARTHUR ZEALAND WRIGHT, as Trustees under the will of FRANK BRISTON PARKES, deceased, as to one undivided moiety, and the said Frederick Richard Parkes in his own right as to the other undivided moiety, of parts of Sections 7, 12a, and 15, right bank Wanganui River, and Lots 4 and 5 of subdivision of Section 16, Town of Wanganui.

Mining Notices.

To the Mining Registrar at Naseby of the Mining District of Mount Ida, and all other persons whom it may concern. TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race and divert water for domestic purposes and the driving of machinery. The point of commencement of such race is in the Wedderburn, about one mile north of Champion’s old station-house; and the point of termination is on Section 9, Block IX., Naseby District. The course of such race is about north and south; the length of such race will be four miles or thereabouts; its mean breadth about 2 feet, and its mean depth about 1 foot. I intend to divert four Government-heads of water. The race will pass through Crown lands, and an area of about 7 feet on each side of such race and immediately adjoining thereto throughout the whole length thereof will be required for the purpose of depositing matter removed from such race. Any person objecting to the granting of this application must lodge his objection in writing at the Warden’s Office, Naseby, within thirty clear days from the date hereof. Hearing at 11 o’clock on 24th February, 1885. H. A. STRATFORD, Warden.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

Otago, Kurow, 13th January, 1885. To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin. I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct a Water-race to divert and use water for industrial purposes, commencing at a point 40 chains, more or less, up the Big Awakino Creek, above junction with the Waitaki River, and terminating at Kurow Township. The length of such race is three miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is in a south-easterly direction, parallel with the Waitaki River. The mean depth of such race is 3 feet, and the mean breadth is 4 feet, and it is proposed to divert eight Government-heads of water. FRANCIS McGRATH, Hotelkeeper, Dunedin, Otago, N.Z.

Any person objecting to the granting of this application must lodge his objection in writing at the Commissioner of Crown Lands Office, Dunedin, within thirty clear days from the date hereof.
