Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land
in the Auckland Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.
I N pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule
hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land
specified in a warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 2 roods 11
perches, more or less, situated in the Whangarei Survey
District, and being a road-line, 100 links wide, traversing the
Pokapu Block, No. 3808A ; commencing at a point on the
north-western boundary of the above-mentioned block at a
distance of 5052 links or thereabouts from its south-western
angle, being the middle of the road above referred to ; and
thence continuing south-easterly generally for a distance of
7570 links or thereabouts to the road which forms the
southern boundary of the aforesaid block, and at a distance
on the same of 848 links or thereabouts from the Waiparera
Stream : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less ; as the
same is delineated on Plan No. 3638, deposited in the Survey
Office at Auckland.

in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-

in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same ; and issued under the Seal of the said
Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington,
this third day of November, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Proclaiming Newton a Borough under “ The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of “ The Municipal
Corporations Act, 1876,” the Governor is empowered,
by Proclamation, to declare any district in New Zealand to
be a borough under the said Act from and after a date to be
named in such Proclamation :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance
and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district
described in the Schedule hereto shall be, and the same is,
hereby constituted, as from the seventh day of November,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, a borough under
the said Act, and that the name of such borough shall be
the Borough of Newton, and that the boundaries of such
borough shall be those described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland,
bounded towards the North generally by Cox’s Bay and
the Borough of Auckland, from Waitemata Harbour to the
south-eastern side of the Old Great North Road ; thence
towards the South-east by the south-eastern side of the Old
Great North Road to a point in line with the south-western
boundary-line of Allotment No. 14 of Section No. 9, Suburbs
of Auckland; thence towards the South-west generally by a
right line to and by the south-western boundary-line of that
allotment and the south-eastern and south-western boundary-
lines of Allotment No. 12 of Section No. 9 aforesaid to the
northernmost corner of Allotment No. 13 of Section No. 9
aforesaid ; thence by the north-western boundary-line of that
allotment to Motion’s Creek, and by that creek to the Waite-
mata Harbour aforesaid ; and thence towards the North
generally by that harbour to the place of commencement.

Districts constituted.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the forty-fourth section of “ The Land
Act, 1885,” it is enacted that the Governor, by Pro-
clamation in the Gazette, may from time to time establish
and define, abolish, alter, or reconstitute local districts for
the sale or disposal of land, and in like manner from time to
time may appoint Land Officers or other persons for conduct-
ing sales of land in such local districts, and for receiving
applications for the sale, letting, disposal, or occupation of
Crown lands, and for generally carrying into effect the pro-
visions of the said Act :
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the districts described in the Schedule
hereto are established, defined, and constituted local land
districts for the sale and disposal of lands under the said
Act ; and that the land offices the names of which are in
the said Schedule set opposite the names of the said local
land districts are appointed the land offices for the said
local land districts.
