Excluding Land from the Schedule to “The Native Lands Alienation Restriction Act, 1884.”

IN exercise and pursuance of the power and authority in that behalf conferred by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1885,” His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, doth hereby notify and declare that all that piece or parcel of land bounded on the North by the Mokau River; on the South by the Mohakatino River; on the West by the sea; and on the Eastward by a line drawn from the mineral spring at Totoro, on the Mokau River, due south to the Mohakatino River, shall be and be deemed to have been excluded from the Schedule to “The Native Lands Alienation Restriction Act, 1884,” but so only that Joshua Jones, of Mokau, settler, shall be entitled to complete the negotiations entered into by him with the Native owners of the said land for a lease thereof for the term of fifty-six years; and provided that the said lease is or may be validly made for such term.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of October, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

IN pursuance of the provisions of “The Government Native Land Purchases Act, 1877,” and “The Government Native Land Purchases Act Amendment Act, 1878,” it is hereby notified that Her Majesty the Queen has relinquished negotiations in respect of the block of Native land in the North Island which is more particularly described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
TE PIRAU.
ALL that parcel of land in the District of Thames, in the Provincial District of Auckland, known by the name of Te Pirau, containing by admeasurement 97 acres 2 roods, more or less. Bounded towards the North by the Orongo and Okere Blocks, 1720, 570, and 3610 links; towards the East by the Waihou River; towards the South by the Whare-maoho Stream, and a line 1935 links; and towards the West by a line, 2980 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this thirtieth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.
