SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece of land situated in the District of Wellington, containing 2 acres 2 roods 10 perches, be the same a little more or less, being that piece of Native land called or known by the name of Orangikaupapa number 5, and numbered 3336, and being the whole of the land comprised in Crown grant, Register-book, Volume xxi., folio 229. And also all that piece of land situated in the County of the Hutt, containing 3 acres and 7 perches, be the same a little more or less, and being the lot numbered 10 on the plan of the Orangikaupapa Native Reserve, and being the whole of the land comprised in the certificate of title, Register-book, Volume xxi., folio 234.

Land in Otago, adjoining Caversham Tunnel, not required for Public Use, authorized to be sold.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of January, 1885.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” it is enacted that if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under that Act or any other Act or provincial ordinance, or otherwise however, for public works, is not required for public use, the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein set forth: And whereas the Minister for Public Works has laid before the Governor the memorial referred to in the section aforesaid, praying the Governor, by an Order in Council, to cause such land to be sold:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid, do hereby order and authorize the land described in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in the manner and subject to the conditions of the fourteenth and following sections of the above in part recited Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 rood 14½ perches, more or less, situate in Town Survey District, Provincial District of Otago, being a portion of Section No. 31, Block VI., and comprised within the following boundaries: Commencing at the south-westernmost corner or angle of said Section No. 31; thence running along the boundary-line between Sections Nos. 31 and 33 for a distance of 100 links, bearing 6° 01′; thence in an easterly direction, bearing 95° 52½′, for a distance of 339 links; thence in a southerly direction, bearing 6° 01′, for a distance of 100 links; thence in a westerly direction, bearing 95° 52½′, for a distance of 339 links, to the point of commencement; and bounded on or towards the West by part of Section No. 33; on or towards the North by other part of Section No. 31; on or towards the East by a railway reserve, being part of Section No. 31; and on or towards the South by a district road: as the same is more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 12623, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Correcting an Error in “The Public Reserves Sale Act, 1878.”

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby correct an error in the First Schedule to “The Public Reserves Sale Act, 1878,” folio 169, tenth line from the top, namely: For “parts 1650, 1571, 1381, 176, 783,” read “parts 1650, 1571, 1381, 176, 785.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Land in Canterbury declared to be a Reserve.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the following piece of land shall be a reserve for a recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land, situate in the Halswell Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing 200 acres, bounded on the North-east by a line parallel to and about 4 chains distance from the railway-line; on the North-west by Section No. 2443; on the North-east by Section No. 2443; on the North-west by a line beginning from a point on the south-west boundary of Section No. 2443 and about 12 chains from the south-west corner of that section, and running at right angles for a distance of about 40 chains; thence in a south-easterly direction for about 45 chains; and on the South-east by a line parallel to the north-west boundary, to take in the required area.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Land in Canterbury declared to be a Reserve.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by “The Special Powers and Contracts Act, 1884,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the following piece of land shall be a reserve for a recreation-ground.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Hawkins Survey District, Provincial District of Canterbury, containing by admeasurement 10 acres, more or less, being part of Reserve No. 1751 (in red). Bounded — North-east by the continuation of Creyke Street, in the Horndon Township, 692 links; South-east by Maxwell Street, 1050 links; South-west by the continuation of Railway Terrace North, 1212·8 links; and North-west by a line at right angles to south-west boundary, 1050 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; and numbered 2635 (in red) on the official map in the Survey Office, Christchurch.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this tenth day of January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts of Taranaki, Hawke’s Bay, Canterbury, and Southland, described in the Schedule hereunder written, or the purposes in the said Schedule specified.
