Land taken for a Further Portion of Wellington-Napier Railway (Approach Road to Napier Workshops).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for a further portion of the Wellington-Napier Railway, namely, approach road to Napier Workshops:

And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

All in the Provincial District of Hawke's Bay; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 13102, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-

lington, this thirteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Land taken for a Drain in Ellesmere Road District, Provincial District of Canterbury.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under "The Public Works Act, 1882," for a certain work, to wit, the construction of a drain in the Ellesmere Road District, Provincial District of Canterbury:

And whereas the Ellesmere Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities in me vested by section eleven of "The Public Works Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a drain; and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the land so mentioned shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple in the inhabitants of the Ellesmere Road District, discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever, for use as a drain.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land being part of Rural Section No. 10576, containing 1 acre 1 rood 2 perches, more or less, situate partly in Block XV. of the Leeston Survey District, and partly in Block III. of the Southbridge Survey District, County of Selwyn. Bounded as follows: Commencing at a point on the south-east boundary of the said section distant 906·8 links from the eastern corner of the said section; thence north-westerly 108° 41′, 518·1 links; thence north-westerly 119° 1′, 483·1 links; thence south-westerly 71° 15′, 515·9 links; thence north-westerly 117° 40′, 465·9 links; thence north-westerly 96° 55′, 401·4 links; thence north-westerly 91° 46′, 191·7 links; thence south-easterly 128° 42′, 83·2 links; thence south-easterly 91° 46′, 122·9 links; thence south-easterly 96° 55′, 390 links; thence south-easterly 117°
