Proclaiming the Taking and Laying-off of a Road over Land
in the Marlborough Provincial District.

A PROCLAMATION.

I
N pursuance and in exercise of all powers and authorities
enabling me in this behalf, I, William Francis Drum-
mond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim that the road described in the Schedule
hereto has been duly taken and laid off through the land
specified in a warrant of the date given in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Marlborough, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods
35 perches, more or less, being part of Section No. 226, in
the District of Kaikoura Suburban; commencing at a point
on a public road forming the northern boundary of said
section, and distant 3146·9 links from the north-eastern
corner of Section No. 40, on the Kincaid Run, in the
District of Kaikoura. Bounded towards the North by the
said public road, 102 links; towards the East by a line
bearing 173° 56′, 4964·6 links; towards the South by the
main South Road from Blenheim to Kaikoura, 104·2 links;
and towards the West by a line parallel to and 100 links
from the eastern boundary, 4973·6 links, to the commencing
point: as the same is more particularly delineated on the
plan approved of by His Excellency the Governor, and
deposited as No. 6, in the Survey Office, Blenheim; be all
the aforesaid linkages a little more or less.

Date of warrant, 16th February, 1885.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of
the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael
and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honour-
able Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-
in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the
said Colony, at the Government House, at Wel-
ington, this eighth day of July, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
five.

Parihaka Native Reserve, County of Taranaki, exempted
from Operation of "The Dog Registration Act, 1880."

A PROCLAMATION.

I
N pursuance of the powers vested in me by the third
section of "The Dog Registration Act, 1880," I, William
Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area
comprised within the district described in the Schedule hereto
shall be excluded from the operation of the said Act.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the County of Taranaki bounded towards
the North by the Newall Road; towards the East by the
Waiweranui Block and the western boundary-line of that
block produced to the Ngariki Road; towards the South and
South-east by that road; and towards the West by the main
South Road: exclusive of Sections Nos. 59 (Pungarehu), 60,
61, 62, and 125.

Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William
Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General
in Her Majesty's Army, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable
Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral
of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said

this twenty-ninth day of July, in the year of our

HEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
is vested in certain aboriginal natives of New Zea-
land, subject to certain restrictions on the alienation of such
land, and application has been made for the removal of such
restrictions:

It is hereby notified that it is the intention of His Excel-
lency the Governor, immediately after the expiration of
