N the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a
session opened at Tauranga, in the said district, on
the 2nd day of December, 1884, upon the hearing of a claim
to succeed to the interest of Enoka te Whanake in a block of
land situate in the District of Tauranga, and known as
"Allotment No. 5, Parish of Tahawai," otherwise called
"Ongare;" and in the matter of the application of Heni
Kakarihi and Mere Raiha Pakihana for a rehearing upon
such claim :
I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court,
and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in
me, do hereby dismiss such application.

Notice relating to Maori Lexicon.

HE Hon. the Native Minister desires that officers of the
Native Department, and all others interested in the
matter, will be good enough to assist the Rev. W. Colenso,
of Napier, who is engaged in preparing for publication a
Maori-English Lexicon, by furnishing him with the use of
any peculiar tribal word or phrase pertaining to their par-
ticular districts, and also with any new or strange words
they may know or may have noted down.
Mr. Colenso purposes, when the lexicon is published, to
give due individual acknowledgment to all who shall have-
assisted in its preparation.
