ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of June, 1885.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section fourteen of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” it is enacted that, if it is found that any land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under that Act, or any other Act or provincial ordinance, or otherwise however, for public works, is not required for public use, the Governor may, by an Order in Council, publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the conditions therein set forth: And whereas the Courtenay Road Board has laid before the Governor the memorial referred to in the section aforesaid, praying the Governor, by an Order in Council, to cause such land to be sold:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities aforesaid, do hereby order and authorize the land described in the Schedule hereto to be sold and dealt with in the manner and subject to the conditions of the fourteenth and following sections of the above in part recited Act.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Rolleston Survey District, Courtenay Road District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 36 perches. Bounded towards the North-west by Rural Section No. 4962 for a distance of 1717·9 links; towards the South-east by the Great South Railway for a distance of 495·9 links; towards the Southward by a road-line for a distance of 1230·9 links; and towards the Westward by a road-line for a distance of 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Canterbury, in the Rolleston Survey District, Courtenay Road District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres and 5 perches. Bounded towards the North-westward by Section No. 5690 for a distance of 1250 links, also by Section No. 4597 for a distance of 3820 links; towards the Westward by a road-line for a distance of 123·2 links; towards the Southward by a road-line for a distance of 4999·2 links; towards the Eastward by a road-line for a distance of 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
The same being more particularly delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 13118, deposited in the office of the Minister for Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington.

Suspending certain Alterations in Volunteer Regulations.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of June, 1885.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Act of the General Assembly intituled “The Volunteer Act, 1881,” power is given to the Governor in Council from time to time to make and alter regulations respecting the several matters specified in the said Act: And whereas by an Order in Council dated the twelfth day of May, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five, certain alterations were made in the regulations: And whereas it is expedient that the said alterations shall not come into force until the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance of the said powers, doth, by this present Order in Council, declare that the amended Rule one hundred and four of the Volunteer Regulations shall not be deemed to have come into force, or to affect officers who have been, or may be, elected to appointments prior to the first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Extending Time for preparing County Rolls, County of Akaroa.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-third day of June, 1885.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that certain things required to be done by “The Counties Act, 1876,” in connection with the making and revision of the county roll of the County of Akaroa, cannot be done by or within the times required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the said “Counties Act, 1876,” and by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the times for doing the said things in connection with the county roll of the said County of Akaroa, and doth declare that the time for the doing of such several things shall be those which are specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

Day appointed for revision of roll: Some day on or after the 21st June, 1885, but Revision Court shall not sit after the 9th July, 1885.

Roll shall come into force: On the 10th July, 1885.

Vesting Reserves in the Borough of Tauranga.

WHEREAS by section thirty-eight of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1884,” it is provided that the reserves to be made for any borough or town district under such section shall be made only in cases where no such reserves for the purpose of sections three, five, and six of “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” exist therein, or, if existing, do not equal or exceed the amount of reserves authorized to be made under such last-mentioned Act:
And whereas the existing reserves for the Borough of Tauranga do not equal the amount of reserves authorized to be made under “The Plans of Towns Regulation Act, 1875,” and it appears expedient to make the reserves hereinafter mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the thirty-seventh and thirty-eighth sections of “The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1884,” and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby declare that the lands enumerated in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be and the same are hereby reserved for the purposes respectively stated opposite to the descriptions of such land in the second column hereto, for the benefit of the Borough of Tauranga, as constituted under the provisions of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” on the twenty-first day of February, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.
