Gold Fields Notices.

Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.

Mines Department,
Wellington, 11th June, 1885.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to pronounce the under-mentioned gold-mining lease cancelled, and that the ground is now open for application as if no lease of the said ground had ever been applied for:—
James Higgens and others, No. 118c, Sections 38 and 39, Block II., Cairn Hill, Dunstan District.

Gold-Mining Lease cancelled.

Lease No. 1099, C. Lempfert and others; Section 14, Block VI., 14 acres 1 rood, Kawitiri.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicants specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating the grounds of objection, must be made in writing, and lodged with the Warden at Reefton on or before the 19th day of August, 1885.

Copy of the applications made and plans annexed may be seen at the Warden’s Office at Reefton.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: David Archer and Henry Currie. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “The Rise and Shine Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, at Boatman’s, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Applicants: David Archer and Henry Currie. Style under which it is intended to conduct the business: “The Eye-Opener Gold-Mining Company.” 16 acres 2 roods, at Boatman’s, in the Nelson South-West Mining District.

Given under my hand, at Nelson, this thirteenth day of June, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Gold-Mining Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of “The Mines Act, 1877,” and with the regulations made under that Act for the granting of leases for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it is intended to grant a lease of Crown lands for gold-mining purposes to the applicant specified in the annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objections against such lease.

Native Land Court Notice.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 9th day of June, 1885, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 19th day of July, 1885.

SCHEDULE.

NAME by which land is known: Maungaparahi. Native Land Court District wherein situate: Poverty Bay. Area: 2,489 acres.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 6th day of June, 1885, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 16th day of July, 1885.

SCHEDULE.

NAME by which land is known: Honokawa. Native Land Court District wherein situate: Poverty Bay. Area: 11,254 acres.

Notice under “Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883.”

I, JOHN EDWIN MACDONALD, Chief Judge of the Native Land Court, do hereby, in compliance with the duty imposed upon me by “The Native Land Laws Amendment Act, 1883,” give notice that on the 10th day of June, 1885, the title to the land mentioned in the Schedule herein became, within the meaning of the said Act, ascertained; and, further, that dealings with the said land will cease to be prohibited by the provisions of the said Act on the 21st day of July, 1885.

SCHEDULE.

NAME by which land is known: So much of the block of land known as Mangaohane as was the subject of the decision of the Native Land Court given on the 10th day of March, 1885. Native Land Court District wherein situate: Gisborne.

Application for Rehearing of Claim dismissed.

NATIVE LAND COURT, NEW ZEALAND:
GISBORNE DISTRICT.

IN the matter of a judgment of the Court given during a session opened at Waiomatatini, in the said district, on the 15th day of January, 1885, upon the hearing of a claim for investigation of title to land situate in the said district, and known as “Hautanoa;” and in the matter of the application of Herewini te Hau and others for a rehearing upon such claim:

I, John Edwin Macdonald, Chief Judge of the said Court, and in exercise of the authority in that behalf vested in me, do hereby dismiss such application.
