NOTICE is hereby given that S. SOLOMON, of Dunedin,
in the Colony of New Zealand, Solicitor, has applied,
on behalf of MARTIN MARSHALL, of Dunedin aforesaid,
Chemist, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act, 1866,"
the trade mark of which the following is a description :—
Description of Trade Mark.
A rectangular label of white paper, with a fancy border on
each side thereof; within this border are the words "Special
Tincture" printed in nonpareil antique type in the first line,
the word "of" printed in nonpareil roman type and having
fancy scrolling on each side in the second line, the word
"Podophyllum" printed in pica latin type in the third line;
the words "The Homoeopathic Remedy for" printed in
nonpareil roman type in the fourth line, the words "Consti-
pation, Indigestion, Heartburn, Acid" printed in nonpareil
roman type in the fifth line, the words "Risings and all
Liver disorders" printed in nonpareil roman type in the
sixth line; the word "Dose" printed in nonpareil roman
type, and the words "Five drops in a wineglassfull of" printed
in nonpareil italic type in the seventh line, the words
"water night and morning" printed in nonpareil italic type
in the eighth line; the words "M. Marshall, Homoeopathic
Chemist," printed in the ninth line, "No. 1, Princes St., and
149, George St.," printed in the tenth line, and "Dunedin"
printed in the eleventh line. The whole of the aforesaid
printing being in an Indian red ink; written diagonally
across the whole of the label is the signature "M. Marshall,"
in Turkey blue ink.
Nature of the Article to which it is intended such Trade
Mark shall apply.
A fluid chemical medicinal preparation.

NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. IRVINE AND
STEVENSON, of George and St. Andrew Streets,
Dunedin, in the Colony of New Zealand, General Grocers,
&c., have applied to register, under "The Trade Marks Act,
1866," the trade mark of which the following is a descrip-
tion:—
Description of Trade Mark.
The words "St. George," together with a circular medal-
lion containing a representation of St. George killing the
dragon.
Nature of the Articles to which it is intended such Trade
Marks shall apply.
Washing powder, jams, and other articles manufactured
by the applicants.

Bonus for Kerosene.
Colonial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 18th February, 1885.
NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for
the production of kerosene under the following con-
ditions:—
A bonus of sixpence per gallon will be paid on kerosene
produced within the colony to an extent not exceeding
50,000 gallons, in quantities of not less than 10,000 gallons
at a time; the kerosene to be of a quality approved of by
Government, and to be sold at a fair average market price.
Conditions.
- Notice of intention to claim the above bonus must be
given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the
31st December, 1885. - The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1886.
- The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the
Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the
recipient of the bonus. - The other conditions as to quantity, priority, quality,
and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer
appointed for the purpose by the Government.

Bonuses on Colonial Industries.

Wellington, 10th December, 1884.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses will
be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New
Zealand, as under:—
STARCH.
A bonus of three hundred pounds (£300) will be given on
the first 50 tons of good marketable starch manufactured
in the Colony of New Zealand.
Conditions.
- Notice of intention to claim the bonus must be given in
writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 30th
June, 1885. - The claim must be made before the 31st December,
1885. - The first claimant who proves, to the satisfaction of the
Government, that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be
the recipient of the bonus. - Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will
enable an officer appointed by the Government to certify
that the above-stated quantity has been actually made, sold,
and delivered. - The bonus to be paid only on the certificate of such
officer.
PRINTING-PAPER.
A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) will be given for the
production of the first 50 tons of printing-paper made by
machinery permanently established and working in the
colony. The bonus will be paid to the producer who effects
the first bonâ fide sale of the amount of printing-paper
specified.
SILK.
A bonus of fifty per cent. on the value realized for the first
thousand pounds' (£1,000) worth of cocoons of the silkworm,
or silkworms' eggs, produced in the colony, to be paid on
quantities of not less value than fifty pounds (£50) nor more
than one hundred pounds (£100) produced by any one person.
Conditions.
- Notice of intention to claim any of the above bonuses
must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later
than the 30th June, 1885. - The claim must be made before the 31st December,
1885. - The first claimant of any bonus who proves to the satis-
faction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the con-
ditions to be the recipient of the bonus. - The other conditions as to quantity, priority, quality,
and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer
appointed for the purpose by the Government.
IRON.
A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be given for
the production in New Zealand of 300 tons of pig-iron, of
marketable quality, from ore produced in New Zealand.
WROUGHT-IRON.
A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be given for
the production in New Zealand, by a direct process, of 200
tons of "iron blooms," of marketable quality, from ore pro-
duced in New Zealand.
Conditions.
- The bonus not to be given for any quantity less than
100 tons.
