Appointments in Stock Branch.-Notice No. 175.

Colonial Secretary's Office (Stock Branch),
Wellington, 11th May, 1885.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make
the following appointments under "The Brands and
Branding Act, 1880:"-

EDMUND CLIFTON to be a Registrar of Brands for the Kai-
koura Branding District, comprising the Kaikoura Subdivision
of the Marlborough Sheep District, as constituted under
"The Sheep Act, 1878," from the 12th September, 1884.

GRATTON SHERWOOD COOKE to be a Registrar of Brands for
the Amuri Branding District, comprising the Amuri Sub-
division of the Marlborough Sheep District, as constituted
under "The Sheep Act, 1878," from the 20th September,
1884.

EDWARD ROBSON to be a Registrar of Brands for the Bay
of Plenty Branding District, comprising the Bay of Plenty
Subdivision of the Auckland Sheep District, as constituted
under "The Sheep Act, 1878," from the 1st April, 1885.

WALTER MILLER, Jun., to be a Registrar of Brands for the
Dunstan Branding District, comprising the Dunstan Sub-
division of the Otago Sheep District, as constituted under
"The Sheep Act, 1878," from the 9th April, 1885.

RICHARD WILLIAM RAYNER to be a Registrar of Brands;
and His Excellency has also been pleased to assign that part
of the colony known as the Chatham Islands as a branding
district for the said Registrar, and to appoint the Courthouse
at Waitangi, Chatham Islands, to be the Registration Office
for the said district, from the 1st January, 1885.

His Excellency the Governor has also been pleased to
make the following appointment under "The Diseased Cattle
Act, 1881 :"-

THOMAS JOHN MILES to be a Deputy Cattle Inspector in
and for the Cattle District of Otago, and in and for all cattle
districts in the colony, from the 31st January, 1882.

Substitute Returning Officer appointed, Tauranga Electoral
District.
