Now the County Council of the County of Ashburton doth hereby order that the Road Board of the Mount Somers Road District shall be dissolved, and the same is hereby dissolved accordingly.
And it is also ordered that the election of a new Board shall take place on Monday, the 4th day of May, 1885, and that Mr. John Charles Bell be the Returning Officer to conduct such election.
The first meeting of the new Board shall be held at the Road Board Office, Mount Somers, on the 11th day of May, 1885, at noon.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of Ashburton was hereunto affixed by the authority of the County Council of the said county on the 4th day of April, 1885, by William Campbell Walker, Chairman of the said Council, in the presence of F. Mainwaring, Clerk to the County Council of Ashburton.
I hereby certify that the above special order for dissolving the Mount Somers Road Board was duly passed by the County Council of Ashburton, at an ordinary meeting of the said Council, held at its offices, in the Town of Ashburton, on the 27th day of March, 1885.

THE DISEASED ANIMALS IMPORTATION PREVENTION ACT.
By His Excellency Sir GEORGE CUMINE STRAHAN, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Colony of Tasmania and its Dependencies.
A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS I, Sir George Cumine Strahan, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as aforesaid, deem it probable that the importation of sheep from the Colony of New Zealand may cause disease to be introduced into Tasmania: Now, therefore, I, Sir George Cumine Strahan, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in-Chief as aforesaid, in the Executive Council, do hereby, in pursuance of the provisions of the Diseased Animals Importation Prevention Act (47 Vict., No. 2, sec. 3), absolutely prohibit the importation into Tasmania of sheep from the said Colony of New Zealand.
Given under my hand at Hobart, in Tasmania aforesaid, this twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

SIR,—I have the honour, pursuant to the provisions of section 145 of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” to give you notice of the result of the poll taken on Wednesday, the 6th day of May instant, respecting the proposal of the Council to borrow £8,000 sterling for the purpose of constructing gasworks for the borough, and secured by a special rate of two-pence in the pound sterling upon the rateable values of all the rateable properties within the borough, and also the said gasworks and the profits arising therefrom. The votes recorded were as follow:—

As the number of votes in favour of the proposal exceeds one-half of the number of the burgesses (viz., 315), I have declared the resolution to be carried.

Bonus for Kerosene.

NOTICE is hereby given that a bonus will be paid for the production of kerosene under the following conditions:—
A bonus of sixpence per gallon will be paid on kerosene produced within the colony to an extent not exceeding 50,000 gallons, in quantities of not less than 10,000 gallons at a time; the kerosene to be of a quality approved of by Government, and to be sold at a fair average market price.
Conditions.
- Notice of intention to claim the above bonus must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 31st December, 1885.
- The claim must be made before the 30th June, 1886.
- The first claimant who proves to the satisfaction of the Government that he has fulfilled all the conditions to be the recipient of the bonus.
- The other conditions as to quantity, priority, quality, and value to be fulfilled to the satisfaction of an officer appointed for the purpose by the Government.

Bonuses on Colonial Industries.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the Colony of New Zealand, as under:—
STARCH.
A bonus of three hundred pounds (£300) will be given on the first 50 tons of good marketable starch manufactured in the Colony of New Zealand.
Conditions.
- Notice of intention to claim the bonus must be given in writing to the Colonial Secretary not later than the 30th June, 1885.
- The claim must be made before the 31st December, 1885.
- The first claimant who proves, to the satisfaction of the Government, that he has fulfilled all the conditions is to be the recipient of the bonus.
- Evidence to be produced of such a nature as will enable an officer appointed by the Government to certify that the above-stated quantity has been actually made, sold, and delivered.
