A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the eighth section of “The Taranaki Botanic Garden Act, 1876,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
FRANCIS PEACOCK CORKILL
to be a Member of the Board of Trustees for Public Recreation.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir William Francis Drummond Jervois, Lieutenant-General in Her Majesty’s Army, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five.

Proclaiming Newmarket a Borough under “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876.”

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section seventeen of “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” the Governor is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any district in New Zealand to be a borough under the said Act from and after a day to be named in such Proclamation:
Now, therefore, I William Francis Drummond Jervois, the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby constituted as from the date hereof a borough under the said Act, and that the name of such borough shall be the Borough of Newmarket, and that the boundaries of such borough shall be those described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Auckland bounded towards the North and North-east by the northern side of the road (known as Park Road) forming the northern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 23 and 24 and the north-east boundary of Allotment No. 25, all of Section No. 3 of the Suburbs of Auckland, Rangitoto Survey District; thence again towards the North by the northern side of the road forming the northern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 31, 32, 33, and 34 of Section No. 3 aforesaid; thence towards the North-west by the north-western side of the road forming the north-western boundary of Allotment No. 25A of Section No. 3 aforesaid to the road known as Whitson’s Brewery Road; thence again towards the North by the northern side of that road and its production to the eastern side of the Epsom Road; thence again towards the North-east by the north-eastern boundary-line of Allotment No. 21 of Section No. 4 of the Suburbs of Auckland aforesaid to Slaughterhouse Creek; thence towards the South-east by that creek to the south-eastern corner of Allotment No. 23 of Section No. 4 aforesaid; thence towards the South by the southern boundary-line of that allotment to the north-eastern corner of the Public Hall site; thence by the eastern and southern boundary-lines of that site to the Epsom Road aforesaid; thence again towards the South-east by the eastern side of that road to its intersection by the production of the southern boundary-line of Allotment No. 19 of the Suburbs of Auckland aforesaid; thence again towards the South-west by a right line to, and thence by the last-mentioned boundary-line to, the road forming the north-western boundaries of Allotments Nos. 19 aforesaid, 18, and 17; thence towards the North-west by that road to the north-western corner of the last-mentioned allotment; thence again towards the South-west by the road forming the south-western boundaries of Allotments Nos. 25, 26, and 27 of Section No. 6 of the Suburbs of Auckland aforesaid; thence again towards the North-west by the north-western boundary-line of the last-mentioned allotment and its production to the Kyber Pass Road; thence again towards the South-west by Allotments Nos. 28 and 29 of the said Section No. 6 to and by the Borough of Auckland; and thence towards the North-west generally
