All that parcel of land in the Southland Land District,
containing 2 acres, more or less, situated in the Wairio
District, being Section No. 189 of said district. Bounded
towards the North-east by Section No. 52 of said district,
664·5 links; towards the South-east by Section No. 53 of
said district, 301 links; towards the South-west by a road-
line, 664·5 links; and towards the North-west by a reserve,
301 links. For a cemetery.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.

Notice of Intention to change the Purpose of a Portion of
a Reserve.

WHEREAS by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” it is,
amongst other things, enacted that the Governor
may declare his intention to make, change, exchange, or
alter the dedication of any public reserve now or hereafter
vested in Her Majesty or the Governor for any of the pur-
poses named in Class II. of the Schedule to the said Act,
whether the same be granted or not; and, in the case of any
reserves made under the authority of section one hundred
and forty-four of “The Land Act, 1877,” if it shall, in the
opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the purpose
of such reserves or any part thereof from the purpose or pre-
sumed purpose for which it was set apart to any other pur-
pose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor, be expe-
dient to exchange any of the land comprised in such reserve
for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one or more
purposes named in the said Class II., the Governor may, by
notice in the Gazette, declare his intention to make such
change, exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in
such notice declare the manner and terms in which the same
is intended to be so made:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by “The Public Reserves Act, 1881,” aforesaid, declare
my intention to change the specific purpose of a portion of
the reserve described in the first column of the Schedule
hereto, the area of which is described in the second column
of the said Schedule, to the specific purpose set opposite such
description in the third column of the said Schedule.


SCHEDULE.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve. Portion of which the Purpose is intended to be changed. Intended Purpose.
Section 3, Block XXVII., Township of Palmerston, Otago. Site for a telegraph station. All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Otago, containing by ad-measurement 20 perches, more or less, situate in the Town of Palmerston, and being Section No. 14 of Block XXVII. of said town. Bounded towards the North-west by Section No. 1 of same block, 75·7 links; towards the North-east by part of Section No. 3 of same block, 166 links; towards the South-east by Ronaldsay Street, 75·7 links; and towards the South-west by the other part of Section No. 3 of same block, 166 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As a site for an athe-næum.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five.

Altering Times of Meeting of the Land Board of the Land District of Nelson.

WHEREAS by the first subsection of section twenty-five
of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is provided that the Land
Boards of the respective land districts shall sit at the Land
Office in the principal town of the land district, at certain
times to be determined by the Board and approved of by the
Governor, and published in the New Zealand Gazette:

And whereas by a warrant under the hand of His Excel-
lency the Governor, dated the twenty-ninth day of Decem-
ber, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette of the third day of
January, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, it was
appointed that the Land Board of Nelson should sit on the
last Tuesday in each month, at half-past ten o’clock a.m.:

And whereas the Land Board of Nelson did, on the seventh
day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-five,
pass a resolution recommending that the time of sitting
should be altered, and it is expedient to give effect to the
said recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the
power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby
fix and determine that the ordinary meetings of the Land
Board of the Land District of Nelson shall be held on the
third Thursday in each month, at ten o’clock a.m., com-
mencing on Thursday, the twenty-first day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-five, instead of the last Tues-
day in each month, at ten o’clock a.m., as heretofore ap-
pointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five.

Trustee appointed for the Kowai Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the sixth section of “The Cemeteries
Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

CHARLES GEORGE KING

to be a Trustee, in the place of Charles Hiatt, to provide for
the maintenance and care of the Kowai Cemetery, in con-
junction with the other persons appointed by warrant under
the hand of His Excellency the Governor on the twenty-
eighth day of August, one thousand eight hundred and
seventy-eight.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-third day of April, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-five.

Trustees appointed for the Maintenance of the Ormond Public Cemetery.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the forty-fifth section of “The Cemeteries
Act, 1882,” I, William Francis Drummond Jervois, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
the local authority specified in the first column of the
Schedule hereto to have the control and management of
the public cemetery specified in the second column of the
said Schedule.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of Ankland, containing by admeasurement 10 acres 2 roods 17 perches, more or less, being part of Rural Section No. 71 of the Ormond Military Settlement Block.

this twenty-third day of April, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-five.
