Notes for July, 1884.

Auckland.—Very showery weather, although total rain much below average; maximum rainfall on 17th, 58in.; prevailing S.W. wind and moderate, except strong gale on 17th from N.E. and 28th from S.W.; hail on 28th.
Wellington.—Early part of month fine bright weather, though cold, latter part showery, with intervals of fine cool weather and bright nights; maximum rainfall recorded on the 17th, 1.13in.; prevailing winds from N.W. and S.E.; strong on 8th, 13th, and 17th from former quarter and on 18th from latter; lightning on night of 26th.
