Volunteer Corps disbanded.

HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to disband the under-mentioned Volunteer Corps:—
The B or Cambridge Troop, Waikato Cavalry;
The C or Hamilton Troop, Waikato Cavalry;
The Hawera Light Horse;

and to cancel the Gazette notice of the 14th December, 1880, published in Gazette No. 117, of the 16th December, 1880, forming the Te Awamutu, Cambridge, and Hamilton Troops of Waikato Cavalry into a regiment.

The under-mentioned gentlemen therefore cease to be officers in the Volunteer Force, their commissions having lapsed under “The Volunteer Act, 1881;”—

Section 2, “Public Health Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1881.” Fee payable for reporting Cases of Infectious Disease.

IN addition to the sections of “The Public Health Act, 1876,” published in the New Zealand Gazette of Tuesday, the 12th August instant, the attention of the Local Boards of Health is drawn to section 2 of “The Public Health Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1881,” which is as follows:—

Notice to be given to Local Boards.

  1. The following words shall be read as an addition to section twenty-eight of “The Public Health Act, 1876:”—
    And also to give immediate notice thereof to the Local Board of the district in which the patient resides; if he refuses or neglects to give such notice he shall forfeit a sum not exceeding ten pounds: Provided that any medical practitioner so giving notice as above required shall be entitled to receive from such Local Board the sum of two shillings and sixpence in respect of each case of which notice shall be given: Provided also that a medical practitioner shall not be entitled to payment in respect of more than three cases of the same disease reported from the same house during the course of one month.
