Taking Land for Street Extension, Borough of Caversham.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by “The Municipal Corporations Act, 1876,” it is enacted that the Council of a borough constituted thereunder may take any land within the borough for any of the purposes of that Act, in the manner provided by the Second Part of “The Public Works Act, 1876:” And whereas that part of “The Public Works Act, 1876,” has been repealed by “The Public Works Act, 1882” (hereinafter called “the said Act”), and other provisions have by the said Act been substituted: And whereas by section three of “The Caversham, South Dunedin, and St. Kilda Streets Improvement Act, 1883,” power was given to the Corporation of the Borough of Caversham to extend the street called Wilkie Road to the Hillside Road (otherwise known as “St. Kilda Road”), in manner in the said Act described: And whereas the Council of the Borough of Caversham, requiring to take the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of a street, has laid before me the memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration required by the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, and in exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon the Governor by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a street, and that, from and after the day of the date hereof, the said land shall become vested in fee-simple in the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Caversham (discharged from all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of what kind soever), for use as a public street.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 roods 8 perches, being part of Section No. 12, Block VII., Town District. Bounded towards the North-west by the other part of Section No. 12, 550 links; towards the North-east by Hillside (or “St. Kilda”) Road, 100 links; towards the South-east by land taken for the Southern Trunk Railway, 550 links; and towards the South-west by Wilkie Road, 100 links.
Given under the hand of the Honourable George Marsden Waterhouse, for and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in and over Her Majesty’s Colony of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Colony, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-sixth day of July, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for further portion of the Foxton—New Plymouth Railway (Sentry Hill to Waiongona): And whereas all conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land in the manner hereby provided have been observed and performed:
Now, therefore, I, George Marsden Waterhouse, in the name and on behalf of His Excellency the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, and as his duly-appointed Deputy, in pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred by section one hundred and thirty of “The Public Works Act, 1882,” and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling him in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the further portion of the said line of railway hereinbefore specified.

Section No. 104, 2 acres and 3 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres and 3 perches, being part of Section No. 104, Waitara West; commencing at the north-west corner of said section. Bounded—Northerly by Section No. 103, 166 links; Easterly by lines, 289, 387, and 1271 links respectively; Southerly by Section No. 105, 108 links; Westerly by Lepper Road, 1922 links, to the commencing point.
Section No. 105, 2 acres 3 roods 36 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 36 perches, being portion of Section No. 105, Waitara West; commencing at the north-west corner of said section. Bounded—Northerly by Section No. 104, 108 links; Easterly by a line, 2974 links; Southerly by Railway Reserve, 108 links; Westerly by Lepper Road, 2975 links, to the commencing point.
Railway Reserve, 21 acres and 22 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 21 acres and 22 perches, being portion of the Railway Reserve, Huirangi; commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 185. Bounded—Northerly by Section No. 105, 334 links; Westerly by Lepper Road, 3099, 289, 657, 479, and 2978 links respectively; Southerly by the Manutahi Road, 331 links; Easterly by a line, 7460 links, to the commencing point.
Railway Reserve, 20 acres 3 roods 31 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 20 acres 3 roods 31 perches, being portion of the Railway Reserve, Huirangi; commencing at the north-west corner of Section No. 185. Bounded—Easterly by Sections Nos. 185 and 186, 488 and 6542 links respectively; Southerly by Section No. 187, 300 links; Westerly by Lepper Road, 6563 and 369 links respectively; Northerly by the Manutahi Road, 331 links, to the commencing point.
Section No. 7, 21 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 21 perches, being part of Section No. 7, Huirangi; commencing at the south-eastern corner of said section. Bounded—Southerly by Section No. 8, 118 links; Westerly by a line, 228 links; North-easterly by Lepper Road, 257 links, to the commencing point.
Section No. 8, 1 acre and 6 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 1 acre and 6 perches, being portion of Section No. 8, Huirangi; commencing at the north-east corner of said section. Bounded—Easterly by Lepper Road, 30, 622, and 481 links respectively; Westerly by a line, 1118 links; Northerly by Section No. 7, 118 links, to the commencing point.
Section No. 187, 4 acres 3 roods 29 perches.—All that piece or parcel of land containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 29 perches, being part of Section No. 187, Huirangi; commencing at the north-west corner of said section. Bounded—Northerly by Railway Reserve, 300 links; Easterly by lines, 411, 436, 500, and 303 links respectively; Southerly by Section No. 188, 328 links; Westerly by lines 204, 500, and 534 links respectively, and by Lepper Road 412 links to the commencing point.
